Connor LOL has one of the largest Dak crushes on social media.
Trust nothing he posts.....
If he shows himself worthy, I wouldn't mind that much. I seriously doubt he will.Sure, if you want to pay $40+ mil
Wow. You really go from one extreme to the other right? I didn't say "Most Recent". I said more recent but I can see what you are doing here and where this is going.
Lets just get back to the facts. Fact, we've only ever had one franchise QB that was a first round pick. We've had 4 that were drafted in the later rounds or not drafted at all. I mean, if your premise of QB purgatory is accurate, how do you account for that?
How recent is recent? I first went back to Andrew Luck and that seemed fairly recent and that where the 1/3 number came from (and MUCH lower after the first round).
As for your question, the NFL was a different game before the early 2000s. You did not need the kind of talent at QB to succeed that you do now. Finding Dak was a spot of good luck, but its not exactly something you can replicate. I have won 17 games of Blackjack in a row, but that did not change the odds of the game. I could not replicate without several thousand attempts, even if I use the best information available to tilt the odds in my favor, but for that one moment I got lucky.
I'd say the last, say five years or so. That's kind of when we really saw offenses change to more of a run and shoot concept.
Your answer is supposed to be the answer for what question? So far as I can tell, it doesn't really answer anything I've asked you. Please clarify.
2015-Mariotta and Winston (0-2)
2016-Wentz, Goff, and Lynch (2-3 and I am being very generous with the 2)
2017-Trubisky, Mahomes, Watson(2-3)
2018-Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson (1-5)
2019-(tad early but sure) Murray Jones, Haskins (1-3)
That is 5 years (if we use 2014 its another 0-3 but while all 3 of those fit your "run and shoot" style its past 5 years) and in those 5 years you are somewhere between 5-16 and 7-16. If we use 2014 ts 5-19 and 7-19. If you wanted to exclude the top 5, because the Cowboys have too much talent to be drafting anywhere but mid teens at worst and you cannot really reach the top 5 from there, you exclude 8 of the QBs picked of which 3 were successful and that moves you to 3-8 which is interesting in and of itself because it shows that the first round QB and his success is generally not dependent on where he is picked in that round but just that he is picked in that round (or it could be that a sample size of 8 is far to small to draw conclusions off of).
Also the question I was answering, and I am sorry if I answered the wrong question or misinterpreted it, was the question as to how the Cowboys were able to routinely find QBs in the lower rounds. i would argue that before the early 2000s, maybe late 90s with Peyton, the QB position was not as valuable and you had a lot of mediocre QBs, such as Bradshaw, who you could win Super Bowls with. That plus the advent of new metrics and measurables made it a lot clearer what makes a 1st round QB versus a 4th round QB. As that came around the odds of success became firmly in favor of teams who were drafting QBs high and while you had the occasional Tom Brady, there would be 15-20 bums in between him and the next successful one.
Dak intends to play on the franchise tag and wait for the market.
That would be GREAT for Dallas.
Only problem is that he will put up very good numbers with this offense because it's ridiculously loaded with five first round draft picks and the vast majority of investment of resources all in the group. Brian Hoyer would make the pro bowl with this offense next season. True story. It just gets tiresome because the wak dak lovers will just bang on about his garbage time inflated stats and when he falls short against a good team people will just blame the secondary or that it was too windy or something else.
I would rather he just ****** off before next season.

Dak hasn't sniffed a super bowl.
put the bottle down before you start losing money and get in trouble with the lady.So are you betting that he want? I’ll raise you $400 for appearance in the SB this season.
Dak will not take a low ball offer from Jerry until Deshuan Watson gets a deal.
Dak is more accomplished in all categories for QB than entitled choking *** Watson.
Dak news floor is 40 million a year.
Well finally at least people are not comparing Dak to Mahomes or Brady!
Bet 1000 dak doesn't win a SBYea your right Mahomes is overrated and not a worthy comparison, Brady on the other hand is a good comparison.
I’ll bet you he will win a SB this year and If it’s the Chiefs he is going to beat them by + 2 TDs minimum.
I’ll bet $400 on it, put up or shut up.

You do realize Goff made it to the SB.I’ll bet a 1,000 that Sunhsine is gonna turn into another Jared Geoff.

I'm sorry you're so misinformed, but Deshaun Watson is TWICE the quarterback Dak is.
I'd take Deshaun every day over Dak.
This is where you lose credibility- when you trash a guy like Watson to justify your crush on Dak.
Let me make this clear:
I like Dak. He's a great athlete. But he's just not ready to be paid top dollar, because he doesn't yet bring top dollar talent to the Cowboys.
He should take a couple of years at $15-$20 million, accept that he's not quite there yet, and work on getting there.
But to say he's better than Watson is just a desperate statement from a groupie type fan
