Opinions on Dak

Hated him last year but I’m converted. They need to pay that man. He also needs to keep improving he’s got a lot of flaws in his accuracy and anticipation but better than last year for sure.
Just curious how did you hate him last year?

Held the ball too long. Took unnecessary sacks. Fumbled too much. Missed wide open receivers. Didn’t hate him per say but I just had no faith in his ability to play the position.

I'm making this thread to take the board's temperature on Dak after this the games played so far. I know last offseason everything was about Dak hate and love.

Personally I liked him last offseason but I felt he needed to prove he's developing this year. I'd certainly say he did so and thus I'm all in on Dak as our franchise QB.

What say ye?

Dak has improved a lot from last year. Like Romo before him he is a good quarterback with the potential to be elite, but he is not elite yet, good but not elite. I'm hoping that Dak will ultimately be clutch this season, but so far the clutch label seems to just be part of the hype the homers were putting out, given how we did against good teams this season. Again, like Romo I see Dak as being a good quarterback, and probably wasted here by a badly run team with poor coaching and decision making. Before last week, I didn't think the cowboys would have a chance in the playoffs, if they get in. I hope Dak and the team can ride in on a hot streak. Since I've first seen him I liked Dak's poise which he has show again this season. I do feel like he has lost a little bit of that instinct he had in 2016, and wish to see it more. 2016 so far was his best year, where I had the highest expectation for him on what he could become, back when many of us thought the new generation of the elite NFL Quarterbacks would be Dak and Wentz :) how much times have changed. Well I guess we'll have some Dak and Wentz this next game, but they each are far from elite now compared to how people thought they would be. Dak is at least furhter along than Wentz, and Wentz is fragile.

Was your same perception of Tony Romo, and Danny White?

Well to be fair, Danny White has done a lot more than either Romo or Dak, if we are being honest. His legacy was so close from being different if it wasn't for "The Catch" If Danny White would've made it to a super bowl and won, well, one play could be responsible from us knowing what could've been.

Can Dak atleast finish his rookie contract before he's put in a convo about how much he's accomplished compared to the whole careers of guys who played over a decade?

Does this go both way? I mean we had people already proclaim him before to be better than Rogers and Brady ;)

This sites opinion of Dak won't change. If anyone hated him last offseason they'd still hate him now. Anyone who liked him will still like him this year.

I wouldn’t say that.

I think he’s evolved as a passer. I think the next step in his evolution is to cut down on the needless turnovers on his “heat checks.” The elite QBs in this league generally able to keep their INTs to single digits.

Average at best. All things perfect around him and he can do well. He’ll never carry a team.

That sounds more true last year than this. I got to admit that Dak improved his throwing ability in the off Season. I'm in the camp that thinks that last year the Rams game planned against Dak and decided to stop Zeke. This year it didn't work out the same way because Dak has fixed one of his flaws.

I guarantee you this will quickly turn into a Prescott bashing thread. Every thread about Prescott ALWAYS does.
.

Are you even reading this thead >.> I haven't seen one bit of bashing yet. Of course the haters haven't come in yet, and the homers haven't homered here yet. So far I think everyone is being reasonable and honest in this thread, which is surprising on this site since we have extremists on both sides

There’s never been a question on Dak since his 1st season. The Dak haters are just miserable people who visit this site because they need someplace to take out their misery.

Dak is a top 3 under 30 QB in the NFL.

Yes, he plays but he's not going to be able to throw as we need him to and will end up hurting the team. More chance of INT, getting behind early. Cooper Rush is going to have to save this game for us and I'm not sure he has that in him.

Dak sucks. Romo sucked too. If only JG had a QB that didn't suck, he would have won multiple SBs by now. The Clapper label would have the same meaning as the Hoodie if Jerry could just find a QB for JG.
