Ya gotta remember where we were before Flo got hurt last eyar. We were at, or near the top, in offense. We have more depth, so we don't have to depend on a Tucker to fill in. Fabibi, Columbo, even McQuist are an improvement over Tucker. Heck, a blocking dummky would be better than Tucker! At least you would have to go around it.

This entire offense is just too long in the tooth for my liking. Bledsoe, Glenn, TO, Fabini, Rivera, Adams all over the age of 30. We need to use next year's draft to focus on the offense.

So was Quincy....:lmao:

I'll give him credit, Quincy did what was asked of him. He wasnt great by any stretch, but I would consider him "solid" considering what he was asked to do.

At least Kosier will be able to get to the second level. Allen couldn't.

What good is getting to the second level when the first level merely pushed you aside? :)

When he was healthy he was. So--

The comment in of itself was funny. Now he is healthy; so he is a Pro Bowler. I would think he would have to actually play like one to make it. But then again, Larry Allen has proven otherwise.

I'd challenge the naysayers to show how the line could be as bad - or worse than what they ended the season with:

Don't just focus on personnel. Think about game plan. HH31, again, how would you cover TO, Glen, and two TE's? I only see six defenders in the box against this offensive scheme. JJ runs all over the field. That is the point!

Vintage - please try and see the light.
RIVERA IS A MULTI PRO BOWL GUARD. Do you GET THAT?
Johnson has a problem with big NT and DT's but he does the rest of the job very well.
Columbo was getting high marks before his injury.
Kosier had a lot of teams interested in him. We made him a priority- so right now I say he is a plus.
The potential is there for a top 10 line.

He was ONCE a probowl guard. Not any more. Do you GET THAT?

Kosier was so good that the Detroit Lions didnt want him.

The potential is there for Drew Bledsoe to become one with the Texas Stadium turf.

Just how hard is that for you to understand vintage? 6 Straight years as a starter for Fabini.
YES THAT MAKES HIM SOLID. If you cannot see that then your opinons are a joke.

burmafrd-please try and se the light.

ALLEN IS A MULTI PRO BOWL GUARD. Do you GET THAT?

And we replaced him with Kosier....

(Just using your logic).

I have watched practically everything I can get my hands on with Kosier and besides that Arrington video that the mentally challenged Commanders fans keep beating their chests about, I haven't seen him manhandled by anyone. He just appears solid and technically sound. And that will do.

JJ was supposed to run all over the field last year as well. And when your line is so pitiful it cant block a rush 5 on 4, it doesnt matter how many weapons you have. You can have the best gameplan in the world, it doesnt mean anything if you dont have good players to run it with.

Detroit chose not to pay him what we did. AND that is Detroit and Matt Millen- I think you don't want to put their personel accuracy to a test, do you?
Why Cant Rivera return to form? NO REASON.

I don't consider the Lions front office very capable of evaluating talent.

Fair enough.

But the OL still concerns me and I still think we need to address it in the offseason.

And if it plays like a top 10 line.....Wow. I hope to God it does.

Rivera made the pro bowl on merit- everyone agreed on that. LA made it on reputation- most agreed with that.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the O-line, over the last few years people write about how good the O-line will be and it ends up not being very good at all. This year while I hope they show improvement I’ll hold off on anointing them as a very good unit until the prove otherwise

I don't think anyone is saying they'll be as bad or worse.

That's almost impossible.

What I think we're saying is that this is still the team's weak link and could very well hold back the entire offense. There's a serious lack of talent in this group.

If I saw my starting RG get run over by a guy half his size, I'd have second thoughts as well.

The TALENT is there on the O line. Whether it can all be brought out and do we have the coaching to do it is more the question.
