Scandrick tested positive for MDMA, which is more commonly known as "Molly," league sources told ESPN's Ed Werder. He became the 21st player of 104 suspended for performance-enhancing drugs to test positive for MDMA.

Sources told Werder that the violation occurred while Scandrick was vacationing in Mexico with an ex-girlfriend, whom he has claimed persuaded him to add a substance he didn't realize was on the banned list into a cocktail they were drinking.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Scandrick failed a drug test in April and appealed its findings. The league rendered its decision Monday. He will lose approximately $1 million through four missed game checks and a signing bonus repayment.

Go back. Read about the drug policies. He believed he was taking a recreational drug. Something the league does not test for in the off-season.

He is at fault for not knowing that molly metabolizes to amphetamine. You could read the PED policy in depth and come away with no information that molly falls under that policy.

Would like a Dr to join in and give some concrete facts about this drug and testing. I have been searching and can't find much about how much it would take to show up on a test and how far out it was. As far as I can tell, it metabolizes pretty fast, especially if it was a one-time only thing.

It was probably less than a 100mg dose and that should not be enough to show up after a couple of days. The best fact I could dig up was.....

A 100 mg of MDMA will likely not show a positive for amphetamines for a hair drug test; too low a dose. Hair tests are not good at picking up low dose or infrequent use.

So, was this not his first and only Molly? Can just "one hit" do the damage here? Lots of questions........

I just think you have to be smarter than that when you know the NFL is not playing about any illegal substances.

The Cowboys see you as a foundational piece. They have rewarded you with extensions TWICE with little to no heavy negotiations. This is how you reward us especially when you know the defense is already on thin ice? The lack of leadership since the triplets and woody left is a real sore spot for this franchise. We replaced legends, with scrubs, and now phonies.
