Orlovsky: Cowboys set Dak up to fail on offense

Maybe Dak told the coaches what he’s comforting doing, and the coaches are just being accommodating.
Has Prescott complained about being “set up to fail”?

The way I look at this is pretty simple. Yes, Jerry has failed the team this offseason. His offensive choices are questionable.

However, I am also not going to delude myself into thinking that if Jerry had given Dak a bunch of new weapons he'd take this team on a SB run either.

This is purgatory, football purgatory. This team is just good enough to not totally suck, just bad enough to be zero threat in the postseason.
But good enough to get a lousy draft position.

Now its being said under Mike McCarthy.

When this dude doesnt play well, its ALWAYS somebody else’s fault. The WRs, the coaches, the OL
Or maybe those guys were all bad hires? Surely that’s possible so let’s ask some questions to uncover some facts about their quality as coaches.

Were those coaches in demand after they left? Hell, were any in real demand before we hired them? JG maybe-but not really. Do any of them coach offensive football at a high level anymore? McCarthy will be out of football as well pretty soon.

Some people say (me) that we haven’t even had an average coach since Bill left. Maybe they are right?

No. You made this assumption that anyone defending the O Line was a Dak defender.
I didn't say no one thought the O Line could be better or good enough. Just would be completely separate from defense of Dak in the offseason.

He had to have seen that with the crappy running game yet signed for the money anyway. If you care about your craft, you demand they do more or you'll take your talents elsewhere. They offered money and he was like, "Okay "
Didn't the GOAT negotiate his salary lower so he could have Gronk and the rest of the team around him and fight for SB rings? Last time I checked that strategy worked multiple times for him. But I get that Dak is no Brady, so..... "We go as far as Dak takes us and this is how far we get" more or less famous words from Owner, CEO, and GM of the Team after an embarrassing playoffs defeat at home last season.

He did. He chose to fold for Jeruh reasons. How much better would the future look if this season goes the way it is looking (& many of us predicted) if you knew at the end of the year you could make sweeping changes to the roster. He made the absolute worst football decision he could have made.
If Dak wasn't signed, he still would've counted for 40 MILLION in dead cap space.

Don't forget Garrett as HC. Here we are 8 years later. And many receivers Beasley, Bryant, Williams , Gallup, Cooper, Lamb.etc.

Well, Dak being the great leader that he is should have sat them down and said "Hey, let's structure this deal like Mahomes, Brady. Ya'll look like top notch negotiators who got a heck of a bargain. Go sign these DT's, LBer, RB, etc.. Once that is done I will sign on the dotted line making it all work under the cap and let's go try to win something!!"

Instead ... "I must get a record setting deal .... for the brotherhood". So, I got no sympathies for him either.
But he has a responsibility to the brotherhood...lol

Or maybe it's the common denominator.

Those guys are all known Dak defenders ...... and the ones I was talking about. Do not try to weasel out after calling me a liar.

Ummmm ... when you're eating $60 mil of the cap, there's no room to get any more groceries.

Had he taken $40 mil, we'd have $20 mil to buy some serious help across the board.

Figure it out.
and that would be in all the posts i've made on the topic OF WHICH you have NOT READ or simply ignore so you can blither.

carry on w/o me. i don't invest a lot of time in people who make up my side of discussions.

No weaseling of anything. My point stands. You wanted to make a statement and you tried to pull anyone who defended Dak into a position they may not be in. I know exactly what you were doing. You seem to carry some wounds from whatever battles you have had with people on this board. The reality is most fans who want Dak also had O line concerns. Heck most fans regardless had O line concerns. Why would anyone not.
