Cute deflection.

Answer the question. Is Josh Allen better than Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett?
What does that have to do with anything? Is a QB better than a LB or DE?

Talk about a cute deflection .,...... we were discussing the hurries stat.

I will take a guy with 11 pressures and 10 sacks than a guy with 20 pressures and 4 sacks anyday of the week.
And no NFL front office would. It takes fans time to adjust but the analytics are taking over, and already have. This is the same type of arguments baseball fans had 20 years ago when analytics first hit the game hard. Back then teams would pay guys for counting stats like RBIs and Wins and be disappointed with the results.

Sacks are great but pressures are just as important. They get the qb to throw the ball away, make bad throws, and contribute to turnovers. Pressure rates and win rates are also more protectable year to year….most of the time.

If you are referring to Josh Hines Allen then I would say he had only one great year and the other guys have had multiple great years ....... the "hurries" stat has nothing to do with that.

While pressures are certainly important, they are not as important as sacks. When a QB is sacked, he cannot complete a pass or score points for his team. When a QB is pressured, he can do both of the previous. One outcome ends a play. The other one introduces other possible outcomes.

Odighizuwa went 15 weeks without a sack last year. To act as if he's an underrated pass rusher when his finish stats are not there is embellishing his abilities in that area. He has the tools, but needs to get the QB on the ground more than in two games of a season.

I hate the "pressure" stat ......... its what Randy Gregory fans used to defend that idiot for years.
Our definition of pressure is almost getting there, yet the QB has made a great play by avoiding the rush time after time

484 pass rush snaps
11 sacks
48 hurries
6 hits
65 total QB pressures

Osa Odighizuwa

356 pass rush snaps
3 sacks
31 hurries
9 QB hits
43 total pressures

Quinnen Williams

465 pass rush snaps
6 sacks
53 hurries
11 QB hits
70 total pressures
Thanks. That's more telling. Pressure rate against double teams doesn't mean much if the other players are doubled way more often. For example, if one player is doubled 100 times and another is doubled 50, that means that at 12 percent, the first player had twice is many wins against double teams. With a minimum of 50 for that stat, Odighizuwa would only have needed to win six times against doubles (if we was at the minimum).

With these stats, given that Williams had more than 100 more pass rushes than Odighizuwa, you have to figure given the same amount that Osa's numbers would have ended up around 3.5-4 sacks, 40 hurries, 10 QB hits, 53 total pressures.

You just said you know the "offseason priority will be DT."

Can't have it both ways.
They could be in a bad spot at DT. They have absolutely nothing in the pipeline behind Odighizuwa and Smith. And we still have no clue what Smith even is. Honestly tagging Odighizuwa if they dont reach a deal wouldn't shock. And thats a pretty big tag. 22 million last year
