can Dodd and Ogbah slide inside and play DT or are they both strictly DE's?

Based on some of what I saw from Ogbah, I believe he can. I'm not as sure about Dodd, but he has the size for it.

I just read an article that says that JAck has told teams that he WILL eventually need microfracture surgery.. When that will be he doesn't know but at some point he will need it.

I could live with Dallas using its fourth-round picks on Jack and Jaylon Smith. We miss on so many of those that I think it would be worth the risk.

Gimme Dodd! The only thing I don't like is his age. He'll be a 24-year old rookie

You would think a guy with those measurable would be great with Marinelli.

6'4, 270, 4.65 40, he really has it all.

I don't know what his character is like though.

His measurables are those of a first-round player, so I wonder what we're missing on him? I read that his three-cone wasn't very good, so his change-of-direction skills seem to be iffy ... maybe that's it.

Would love Ogbah or Dodd at #34

I don't want Dodd.

I feel like we're still drafting in a spot where we should get a bigtime talent.

Dodd just strikes me as a nice player that will just be solid at best.

At pick 34 we should be getting a talent with big upside still.

You mention 4th rounders. They were talking about 4th round picks, because the Bears gave up one to go get Floyd. I guess Pat Kirwan did a study a little while ago. Less than 25% of all 4th rounders drafted over the last 10 years ever start for the team that drafted them. They were talking about that this morning on Sirius.

I thought it was interesting. Basically they were saying it's better to trade up to get a player using your 4th, then to save it. The end result is much better.

Right now Spence or Ogbah just because of the upside.

Do we even have a starting D End to start the season?

If Ogbah has better character then i'd take him over Spence but Spence has bigtime upside as a pass rush guy.

Ogbah is an inch taller,10 lbs heavier, and ran 4.65 40 compared to Spences 4.8.

When you watch both guys it looks like Spence has a better first step and better technique but Ogbah probably didn't have the coaching that the OSU guys got.

If you watch the kid play he's very active. Dodd to me did a lot of damage against weaker OT. Spence I cant trust the kid

Lot of talk about us possible taking a QB.

That would be major reach IMO.

No question Spence is the better pure rusher. Wonder is he really turned them off with his interviews as Fish, BB and others have stated. I wonder, if we didn't take Gregory last year, if they would take that chance this year.

I have not seen Ogbah play.

We have so many needs that almost nothing would upset me in the 2nd round (sort of like the 1st round, I would've been happy with Ramsey, Bosa, or one of the QBs). However, I DON'T want to see us waste our next pick on a super high risk QB like Hack or Cook. Fortunately, it looks like we might finally be getting a clue when it comes to drafting (so far only evidenced in the 1st round though). It's hard to mess up this next pick. Lots of talented DEs still on the board - Spence, Dodd, Ogbah, Calhoun - lots of talented DTs still on the board - Billings, Robinson, Jones, Reed - even some good WRs - Boyd, Thomas, Shepard, Peake - and then of course the very risky but very talented players who have fallen - Jack and Ragland.

Yes, that's why I'd be willing to take a shot. These are first-round talents who might never amount to much because of their injuries, but if they do overcome their injuries, they certainly would not be typical fourth-round choices.

Someone may choose to take a shot on them earlier, but I wouldn't be willing to risk a first or second day pick.

Actually, it wouldn't because Cook is rated in the area of our pick. However, i think we have a shot at a higher-rated player based on some available, so I think we would definitely be taking a lesser value than we could get.
