Our Next Pick

Dodd just seems solid. Not a lot of upside.

I think I would go Spence and then Ogbah.
Ogbah has been a pet cat of mine. I just figured he'd done enough at the combine to shoot up in the first round. He has a size, speed, strength combo that is somewhat rare. Plus, he was pretty productive in college.

OLB Myles Jack
ILB Reggie Ragland
DT Jarran Reed
DT Chris Jones
DE Noah Spence
DE Jonathon Bullard
DE Emmanuel Ogbah
DE Kevin Dodd

yes...MINUS Spence. He should NOT be on our board and any of you arguing otherwise are higher than Noah.

We went strong, and somewhat shortsighted on Zeke. I personally don't hate it but who cares. Let's move past the pick, like it or not it's done, as is the first round. We are probably "all in" on Romo. Discussions on the pick will and can happen ad nauseum. So who is next?

Let's get a healthy debate on who's the second round pick. I'll start with a(n) A'Shawn Robinson DT pick. We have seen a Dline win championships without support.

Again, MOVE PAST OUR FIRST. Thanks.

Its the 2nd round so we can expect the Cowboys to go after an injury prone guy or drug addict that dropped out of the first round. I would think Miles Jack or someone similar. Personally, I think Dodd would be nice here.

I don't think Billings, Robinson, Reed or Jones will be considerations because they are more 1-techs than 3-techs, although Robinson and Jones have some pass-rush potential.

I don't think Jack or Ragland will be the pick because both have health concerns that make this too early to take them.

So I think it comes down to Dodd, Spence or Ogbah, with Cook also being a consideration.

As much as I'd like to go D-- I have a feeling we're going QB. We have not addressed the backup QB position-- and both Cook and Hackenberg will come off the board in round 2. We were desperately trying to move up for Lynch.

Best case scenario would be for us to trade back a bit and grab one of them, and pick up another 3rd or 4th, and add a couple of quality defenders in the mid rounds. Doubt that happens.

I know we all want to see the D addressed-- especially after taking Zeke-- but we do need some depth and talent behind Romo, and giving Cook or Hackenberg 2-3 years to develop behind Tony is a good strategy.

I think 99% of cowboyszone will be pissed if we take a QB with the next pick-- but we invited 7 QBs for a pre-visit and did not address the position in FA-- so all the signs point to us taking the next highest QB on our board.

Inviting seven QBs gives us more options than we have at DE, where no one expected to be available after this round was brought in for a visit. I think Dodd or Ogbah is more likely for that reason.

I like Spence. But, I'm not ready to give up on Gregory yet. So, I'm pulling for Jarran Reed. Reed is Drew Boylhart's (The Huddle Report) #1 player in the ENTIRE draft!

After going back and watching Ogbah, Spence and Dodd highlights, I think I lean toward Ogbah. He shows quite a burst into the backfield.

Dodd seems to have one move, going around the outside, that he does with more power and speed. Spence seems to primarily be a speed rusher who tries to use movement to keep tackles' hands off of him. Ogbah seems to use both power and speed well.

I see no way we go after Reed after signing Thornton to play the 1-tech.

Billings or Bullard for me. The hopefully Davis falls to us in 3rd.

take billings next
see what we can get fopr leary and pray its enough to enable us to get a 2nd day haul of billings, xavien howard and either dood or nassib
solidfy that secondary by taking simmons on day 3

It seems it will be ogbah as brad sham, mike fisher and dane brugler have basically said it this morning.

I know its wrong and 34 is the wrong time but I love Hackenberg and I think he is going to be a great pro. I would take hackenberg at 34 and just deal with all the complaining.

He will never get past buffalo, the bills owner is a Penn State Alumni and Major donor. He would fit the way buffalo wants to play offense.

I meant "son" in the way that if we were friends you'd be down with. I feel like we are already are though.

I do like your thoughts on even trading down for an extra pick or two, but there seems to be a good sentiment for Ragland or Spence.

I read "son" like any fan of the original Smokey and the Bandit movie would.

We tried trading up for Lynch, maybe we try for Hack and the price isn't as expensive. I'm not pro or con on hack...just a thought.

Ogbah is Drew Boylhart's (The Huddle Report) #12 player in the entire draft. Good pick if we get him.

Also, he rates Jonothan Bullard as his #6 player in the draft.

Yea I know and I am admitting its the absolute wrong spot to take hack but I like him so much I would do it.
