Ron Rivera's contract is up after the SB this sunday. He could come here as the DC if not the HC. Jerry will just have to break out the check book to get it done.

Oh right I forgot. So the secret is to bring back Callahan and they go to the super bowl right?

Anyone that is going to hold the Raider job against Norv is crazy. No one is going to win there. Also were you in the huddle or on the sideline? Do you know that he instructed Collins to throw the ball deep every play or chunk it out of bounds?

He inherited a team 2 years removed from the Superbowl and a Tuck Rule away from going again the year before. That was not a bad team he took over there, and he did nothing with them.

Even this year, the DC Rob Ryan did an absolutely amazing coaching job there getting a whole lot out of very little talent. That defense played its butt off right until the last quarter of Week 17.

The Raiders job still counts.

You're right. We should just ignore the coaches history, if it's bad. I'll keep my head firmly planted in the sand from now on.

the bears will block a lateral move for Rivera. Jerry Jones already has his mind made up for the future of the Dallas Cowboys and his name is Jason Garrett.

no, it's other coaches have won there, and out of the 2 coaches who couldn't recently, one is out of the NFL right now (Art Shell)

yet we're on track to hire the other failure

So if that team was so good why did Callahan coach it to a 4-12 season after the super bowl? Norv won 5 games the next year so that is an improvement.

I'm just saying, coaches have won in Oakland

If Bowles had played for the Cowboys during the glory days, he would probably be named Head Coach. He's accomplished as much, if not more, than Garrett as a coach.

I agree.

That is one of the oddest comments anybody can make. Alot of things in life are predicated on what you have done, good or bad. To come out and say we are just going to whitewash your past because you were HC in Oakland and Washington is extremely foolish.

Trying to trivialize Norv's coaching record to me, just shows just how much antipathy some people had for Parcells that they would be willing to do anything to get rid of him.

Sure they have but what Al Davis has done to that team is sad. Do you realize that in Norv's first year his leading rusher was Amos Zereoue, his reciever's were Jerry Porter, Ronald Curry and Doug Gabriel. Yeah that strikes fear into anyone. Not to mention he had Kerry Collins.

NO Callahan's teram was way better. He had Rich Gannon, Charlie Garner, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown and Porter. That is way better and if you can't see that then you have a real problem.

That doesn't mean anything. Trent Dilfer won a super bowl would you like to have him on your team?

no, you're the one w/ the problem

you can't see that Norv has never had success as an HC, but go ahead, wipe off that Oakland tenure, and still his record as HC is abysmal

That's the beauty of Norv. He's an onion of failure. Remove one layer and there's another one underneath.

The Giants defense was no where near as good as that Ravens D, and their offense no where near as bad.

Collins was a good QB when put into the right system. Amazingly, offensive guru and QB Savior Norval Turner couldn't even do with him what Jim Fassel did - a guy who himself got fired in mid-season from an OC job.

See that is where you are wrong. I was not arguing the fact he is a good coach. I was saying it's hard to hold the Oakland job against him. But hey if you want to put words in my mouth go ahead if it makes you feel better.
