The best we can hope with Lance is he comes in and plays half decent and earns him a contract from another team giving us a comp pick
The best we can hope is Lance continues to play well and is named QB1 in 2026.

We know he struggles making NFL caliber throws on a regular, we get that. What we're overlooking is the fact that when he takes off and runs, he makes nice gains. I think this can really get fan excitement boosted when he does this, and will give our offense a much needed spark. Please give your thoughts
His running ability hasn’t been overlooked. He had around 160 yards rushing and at least one rushing TD in preseason. I mentioned several times that’s the one thing he did well in preseason. Jerry brought up Lance’s running ability times including in his last radio interview.

He has been on the team for 2 seasons now. They know what he is and what potential he possesses. If they like what they see they will do everything to conceal it.

Because if they value him they will not want to showcase it. If he flashes or if the team rallies around him he will price himself out of Dallas

If he does not play then there will be a chance to sign him next year

Jerry looks stupid for signing Dak and not letting the season play out. Right now Jerry looks like a total moron if Lance plays well he will price himself out of Dallas. Jerry will be left with Dak as the young Lance moves on
If he priced himself out of Dallas yes. But if he traded a 4th and the guy looks good what Dak is or isn’t is a completely different situation. It’s like saying if he traded for Mingo and he hits he looks stupid for signing Lamb. Isolated situations.

Your Ceedee and Mingo reference is not the same because 2 WRs can play at the same time

Dak and Lance were both set to be free agents at the end of the year and the Cowboys cannot afford both of them if Lance fulfills his potential. Jerry chose Dak so if Lance plays well Jerry will look stupid because he had him on the Roster

Anything Lance does this year is an audition for his next team.

I said during the offseason I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Lance as a situational QB where he could use his legs. After Dak’s injury I knew that would open the door. Jerry confirmed they have packages for him. Not sure he’ll get on the field Sunday but we’ll definitely see him at some point. Redzone and goal line situations would be a good place to use him with all the redzone struggles we’ve had. He could take off and run the ball in.

why does it have to take for Dak to get hurt to see him in some packages, just a thought though

He didn’t look good in camp and didn’t play well in preseason which is why he’s the third QB. The only chance he had to get on the field is if Dak was injured and he was moved up to number two.

The kid struggled in a watered down offense against a watered down defenses in pre-season. He has not taken a snap since then. Sure let's start him, what could go wrong, I mean he is a phenom right???
Does it really matter if he starts and loses every game at this point?

Lance won’t play unless absolutely necessary. If he does good, Jerry looks stupid for signing Dak. If he does bad, Jerry looks stupid for trading a draft pick for him. It is a lose-lose situation for him and he deserves it.

He actually doesn't struggle with NFL throws.

He struggles with consistent accuracy. He's a stronger thrower than both Dak and Rush.
lol, and as we all know consistent accuracy has never been a part of then “NFL throw” equation.

It depends upon the context and the semantics of “NFL throw”. Since that was not defined, an assumption was made that the term referred to all the various throws NFL QBs can make, typically with reference to arm strength. That is what people mean when they say such and such can make all the “NFL throws”. They aren’t presuming anything about accuracy one way or the other, because if they can make the throws then they usually are accurate with them, some QBs more so than others.

Jerry looks stupid for signing Dak no matter what happens.
