Overlooking Lance in one area

The coaches know a lot more than we do- they see him on the practice field, and also know how his mind works.

That said, why not play him? He doesn't have the experience of Dak, but the OP is correct in that Lance is far more mobile. Dak has been horribly inaccurate this season, so it would be nearly impossible for Lance to be worse in that regard.

Since you asked for thoughts…

Thought #1… your question does not matter, unless the QB in front of him gets injured

Thought #2: everybody knows he can run a little, but that does not make him a Lamar, a Josh Allen, or a Jayden Daniels. Even Daniel Jones can run a little…

Thought #3: If it’s a little little excitement that you’re looking for in the QB position, then hope the Cowboys prioritize it in the draft
Thought #4 Merry Christmas eagle lover

We know he struggles making NFL caliber throws on a regular, we get that. What we're overlooking is the fact that when he takes off and runs, he makes nice gains. I think this can really get fan excitement boosted when he does this, and will give our offense a much needed spark. Please give your thoughts
Yes. Let's have Trance run 15 times a game. Maybe Rico can throw 15 passes.

We still do not know enough about Trey yet. Easy to say he can’t make the throws for fans. Because he did not light it up to their expectations in PS fake games without the starters.

He needs more playing time.
That's fine we shall see

Same to you and yours…really. Life goes beyond football.

I was just being a smart*** because I think most realize Lance is not going to be any answer…unless the question is ‘who did the Cowboys waste a 4th rounder on?’

He should absolutely start. If he tanks so what. We need to tank. If he excels then its great.

Literally no reason to play Rush over him. We arent winning anything with this team- we have very little talent.

The kid struggled in a watered down offense against a watered down defenses in pre-season. He has not taken a snap since then. Sure let's start him, what could go wrong, I mean he is a phenom right???

But in a way that's a reason not to play him. That's devising a gameplan which we cant replicate with Dak.

It's one of the aspects which appeals about Johnson, he plays offense without the benefit of a mobile QB.

Isnt that what we're looking for? This team, even with Dak and Micah isnt going anywhere.

#4 No one overlooks Lance running. Its all they talk about when they hype him up

Too bad we could never run effective RPO plays with Lance. The opposing defenses would never bite on the running backs in play action because they are trash. They'd just key on Lance keeping the ball because nobody fears our running backs doing anything special.

well we have zeke, to Jerry that's reason for all the rest of the teams we play to fear us!

He doesn’t struggle.

Like this one?

The problem is MM offense is made for drop back passers. Lance needs to play in an RPO type college system like Washington and Philadelphia. I hope the Cowboys are smart enough to have a package for the kid. I have my doubts.
Lance can throw from anywhere on the field.
