Wouldnt he have been instructed to walk with crutches by the medical staff if they feared it was an ACL?

If I were superstitious, I'd say this is karma for all the useless threads about players from other teams being out for the year but I won't go there. Just the kind of unlucky play we see all the time in football, on any given night you can be down 3 starters in a matter of minutes. Love the sport but hate this part of it.

The scary part is during the replay, Overshown didn't seem to twist his knee or bend it in a wrong way. It looked like a clean tackle without much stress on the knees. I didn't know his college injury history (which was extensive). This makes me wonder if his thin body frame is simply susceptible to injuries? If so, will his body be able to handle the physical rigors of playing in the NFL?

He looked pretty good walking, but reports are he has a torn ACL I remember Michael Irvin coming back into a game for one play after he tore his ACL.
Coke helps alleviating the pain.

Just kidding....

Yeah, means little. We all hope the best, but soldiers press on until the body beats the mind. Very dependent on actual injury.

His body language looked positive. Hopefully we'll get positive news tomorrow. Were we expecting him to start this season? Clarke and LVE are set but what's the other LBers besides Cox? What were we expecting from Overshown and what's the overall LBer situation?
He was not expected to start no.

But he would have played a ton

Well hopefully an MCL and not ACL. Good to see him walking fairly quickly, however Ive seen people with ACL injuries still be able to walk around decently and even do some light sport activities like golf, etc.

Not worth to speculate until he gets an MRI, bur lets all hope for the best.
True, happened to me at 57, was still able to do most things. Did not have surgery until after a year.

2/3 of ACL injuries are exactly like this. Almost no contact. Lateral movement at the wrong angle with the wrong momentum.

I tore my ACL in my right knee. Two years later in my left. Both were non-contact injuries. Both times I could sorta walk normal afterwards, if I was super careful.

Such injuries have little to do with a "thin body frame." Sure some guys are more prone to ACL than others, but just as often they will randomly take down about anyone.

I remember Falcons RB Jamal Anderson walking off the field after an injury vs Dallas. I was shocked to read the next morning that he suffered a torn ACL. Learned then that athletes are able to slowly walk on a torn ACL.

What really matters is when the doctors perform the push/pull test on the knee/leg. They know almost immediately...

Ok, I'm dense, I don't get it.
From Google:

Electric shock refers to a non-fatal electrical injury, whereas electrocution describes a fatal electrical injury. In other words, electrocution results in death due to the passage of an electrical current through the body, whereas electric shock causes injury but not death.

All that and he plays extremely aggressive as well. It’s a valid question and we will see.

Linebacker is such a collision position that you expect injuries. That is why you very rarely pay big money for that position.

Sucks that he got hurt on such a basic play though without a clear reason for the injury though
