Not to blame Seattle but I wonder what is up with their turf. Stephens hurt his knee as well.

I hope it's not just adrenaline.

I broke both my arms in a wildly insane electrocution incident involving a faulty piece of commercial equipment as a kid and could do all kinds of stuff for about an hour afterwards.

Same when I tore my meniscus after a soccer game.

Still from what little I know that's a feat if he has an ACL
I have been walking and running on a torn ACL for the last 32 years. The problem is that there is no lateral stability in the joint.

A friend of my brother once crashed into a bridge abutment, shattering both legs, and stood up and walked a few feet before collapsing. Adrenaline is amazing.

Yup, that’s the same thing that took me out of the pro hopscotch circuit back in the day, luckily I could still continue with my DoubleDutch league.

They're probably right about the injury. They usually are.

Such a shame though. I didn't like this pick but have been converted

Poor guy. Lifelong dream to make it in the NFL and now this. If this woulda happened in Year 3 or Year 5 it would just be one lost season... but losing your rookie NFL season is bad. Often times it just derails ur career.... hopefully he will be an exception.

Will pray for him.

Cowboys will be fine. This injury if serious doesn’t move the needle on where this team will finish. Hope for the best for him, but I have no concern about impacts to the team. This isn’t the last one of these for sure. It will blow if it’s Martin or Micah. The rest to me can be overcome.

I actually think it’s better early than later, he will have time to develop and as long as he fully heals will get the benefit of a semi red shirt year…would rather have not seen the injury though

Seems Overshown, Waletzko and John Stephens all had some level of injury last night. Anyone hear anything on the severity of the latter two?

Waletzko reinjured the same shoulder that kept him out all of last season.

Luckily ACL tears are NOT what they used to be...not by a long shot. Physically he'll be fine .....it's just the lost 1st year of experience. It just sets you back so much.

Hoping reports are wrong and it's just some kind of sprain or micro tear that will heal in 6-8 weeks and he can come back by October or something. Loved him in college....and thought this was our best pu k of the draft

found this:

Waletzko, a second-year talent who has come on strong in 2023 training camp in the bid for the swing tackle role, suffered a shoulder subluxation that caused him to exit the game before also being ruled out.
The 23-year-old saw his 2022 season mostly derailed due to a shoulder subluxation suffered in last year's training camp, costing him all but three games (the injury reoccurred after Week 3).
The shoulder in question at the moment doesn't appear to be the one that ailed him last season, but will still require additional testing.

And then there's John Stephens Jr., the promising rookie tight end who has been making a lot of waves with his play as an undrafted free agent. Stephens is a former wideout who has shown an ability to be a red zone threat and more for the Cowboys as a TE, but he is now dealing with a knee injury that requires an MRI.

Adding to the list of injury concerns from the fight against the Seahawks is Sheldrick Redwine, a veteran safety looking to build on a solid camp alongside other promising young safeties in the defensive backs room in Dallas. Redwine suffered a hamstring injury that did not allow him to finish the game in Seattle, and his timeline is also in the air at the moment.
