Hope for the best. But prepare for the worst. He was going to be a huge help for our Defense.

If it was just the ACL that was damaged it doesn’t have to be a devastating injury that can’t be walked on. OBJ played in the Rams Super Bowl run without an ACL. Hell, former NBA player Dejuan Blair didn’t have an ACL in either knee and made it to the highest level
There was a pretty decent corner that played in the late 90s/early 2000s (I think for the Panthers)…Jimmy Hitchcock? Anyways, he didn’t have ACLs in either knee.

It’s a shame he got hurt on that play because you could see his speed and potential. He is gonna be a player.

A buddy is a orthopod and he said typically at least in situations where he's been, if they fear ACL, they would probably just brace it, etc to be conservative and they typically wouldnt let an athlete who tore his ACL just then walk around on a sideline. But he said it is possible they could have feared ACL but let him do this, he's just never really seen it. Usually they tend to be overly protective of the injured area.
Ok my bad, misinterpreted what you were saying. I thought you were saying that just because he was able to walk around it wouldn’t be an ACL
But yeah, I would definitely assume the doctors wouldn’t let him do that if they initially feared ACL. My only assumption would be that the initial feel (probably a technical term for that) testing didn’t make them think ACL, but later further testing made them think different. Or hopefully it’s not torn at all, just would be a little weird for there to be media rumors of it without some kind of source.

Yes. Typically they either know and take action...or they are not sure and take precaution.

I can only assume they knew it was minor...or we have a defective medical staff.

If that is true we have a defective medical staff.

If Overshown requires surgery he will be out for most of the season. I'm hoping it's not that serious.

Hope it's not too serious. Besides the fact that it bums us fans out, I feel for Overshown. I can't imagine how frustrating it must feel to make it to the NFL, get yourself in an early groove, and then have it all sidetracked right out of the gate with an injury.

Hmmm... it doesn't look like he's wearing a brace.

From Google:

Electric shock refers to a non-fatal electrical injury, whereas electrocution describes a fatal electrical injury. In other words, electrocution results in death due to the passage of an electrical current through the body, whereas electric shock causes injury but not death.
e·lec·tro·cu·tion
/əˌlektrəˈkyo͞oSH(ə)n/
noun
the injury or killing of someone by electric shock.
"they switched off the power supply to avoid any risk of electrocution"
