I wouldn’t bet on it. This will likely be the second full season Overshown will miss in his three seasons due to serious knee injuries. Not only will it be very difficult returning to the form he was showing but his development is being stunted because of all the missed games. He’s injury prone. He’s Sean Lee all over again. He can’t be counted on.

Unfortunately he has a long road ahead of him. I doubt he even plays this coming season. But maybe he can come back in 2026. Dallas needs to draft his replacement because you just can't count on Overshown to stay healthy.

Regardless of where this lands, Overshown at 50%, 70%, whatever percent of what he was, the Cowboys would be wise to protect themselves and move forward via draft or free agency as if he can’t return at all.
