I honestly think that some would rather mediocrity without Owens than Winning with him.

There is no player in the league who is indispensible. None who is irreplacable.

Owens is no different.

Of course he can be replaced.

In the first year it'll probably take a stud draft pick and/or a vet the quality of say, Lav Coles (just for 'talent level example, he won't be available), plus more complete integration of the the promised two te sets, and Tony's ongoing development.

I don't see 'mediocrity' for this O with Owens gone..not at all.

More and more I buy the idea that Bill does not want Owens back. Bob Glauber at Newsday, a pretty reasonable scribe, yesterday maintained he has sources who confirms this.

PS. Every receiver needs a complement. But none needs one particular guy and no one else.

PPS. I'd rather win with Owens than lose without him. But I'd much rather win without him than with him.

But, as you said, we would need an adequate replacement. You throw out Coles' name, only to say he won't be available.

Who will be available? From what I've read, it looks like it's expected to be an incredibly weak FA class at receiver. Granted, this discussion ends if Andre Johnson hits the market. I just can't see Houston being THAT stupid. Stupid, yes, but not that stupid.

I did not want him in the first place, and if he can not even be good his FIRST year with a team, just think what he will be like if he comes back.

So NO way do I want him back on this team, of course what I want does not matter to Jerry Jones.

i really dont care if TO is on the team next year. By that i mean that if he is on the team i will root for the team, if he is let go i am confident that the cowboys organization would do so with a plan in mind to get a wr that can execute this offense.

To be honest this offense is not the type of offense that requires a TO. A lot of TO routes seem to be possession type routes like curls, hooks and outs..... catch the ball and move the chains. Not so much the type where you need a game breaking wr that excells at YAC.

I dont care about the media circus that surrounds TO, i tune things out very well. And i dont think he is an awful person or jerk off either. I do think he puts his foot in his mouth quite a bit and that it is difficult for him to handle the attention he now has around him in a positive manner, i think he is overly sensitive and acts out. But that is where he is at as a person, those are his issues. We all have issues, some of them we learn how to deal with and certain issues haunt us so that it can take a lifetime for people to adjust and mature in certain areas.

There are also positives that TO brings to the table as well, you have to take the good with the bad. His competetiveness, willingness to play through an injury, the way he reached out to sam hurd and others. All in all, his teamates seem to like him so that must count for something.
