Not being funny, but you could start that now. There are tons of non-T.O. threads on the board, but they're not the most popular for whatever reason. Maybe it's just that TO and Jerry threads are like moths to a flame.

No matter how much you try to avoid them, you still find yourself posting in them.

the reason is because this is hanging over the franchises head. Its the giant elephant in the room. With jerry being a coward and refusing to talk about it, along with the other coward wade phillips it is going to linger and linger and linger.

When we get to the draft, the media will be filled with nonsense because this has not been resolved. When we get to camp the media will be worse than last year, which is near impossible to imagine.

hey look more sarcasm, Who would have thunk it.

Thanks for enlightening me.

That wasn't sarcasm.

I enjoy reading the posts people make going back and forth over Owens. Its entertaining.

If I was going to start a topic, I'd probably start one on Burnett. I'm curious as to whether or not people think we'll bring him back, what kind of salary he'll command (of this, I have no idea what to expect), discuss whether his play is worth the salary/worth bringing back, what players in the draft could fill his role if we don't retain him, etc.

But like I said...

I enjoy the Owens threads.

That wasn't sarcasm.

lol, whatever.

and as far as burnett goes, If I had to imagine Jerry's history is to not pay guys who are injured alot. Its the one area he has been smart at. If a guy does not play through pain or gets injured alot he seems to shy away from him.

On the flipside of that, wade phillips seems to like him.

And the real issue is How much is a role player worth? To me inside linebacker is a serious issue on this team now and you cant make a mistake and overpay a roleplayer, even though he is a very good special teamer.

He'll play past 40, but he'll still think he deserves 8 mil per. If he takes a decent pay cut, but who knows with Jerry.

He has already expressed that he probably wont play until 40.

I think this contract is a wrap.

He wants to do other things like destroy Sports TV networks or websites.... :laugh2:

What's to "resolve"? Owens is under contract, Jones or Phillips hasn't said one peep about releasing him, & he's stated he wants to be here. His cap hit is basically the same whether he plays or goes, so money doesn't factor into it (not this upcoming season anyway). All of this is media speculation and a segment of the fan base who doesn't like the guy...nothing concrete, so again, what's to resolve?

In addition: I think that a confirmation from the 'Boys brain trust could stop all of this rampant speculation, but I don't think they owe it to us or anyone else when discussing a player who's under contract.

Whats to resolve? He attacked the qb and the offensive coordinator, two guys higher on the food chain than him all year.

He placed his shortcomings on them and caused a ton of distraction at the most important time of the year.

The distraction is him. he is the common component. Whether you like the guy or not, the teams he is on have the identical problems and it always plays out the same way.

It is obvious how it affected the offensive side of the ball, especially the quarterback and it seems to have affected some coaches.

Jones and Phillips wont talk about it now because they are cowards. they need to go on record with this stuff and clear it all up.

If you dont think it is a lingering problem that needs resolution, your not paying close enough attention.

LOL no doubt.

But I think that he has enough dislike for ESPN that he wont go. They attack him... I dont think money fixes that. This man overcame stuff like that as a kid.

Who knows... by then he may go to NFL network or the new flavor at the time.

You're right, we've seen this happen before yet some people just don't want to believe it's happening here. The guy never should have been brought in for two reasons:

1. He disrespected this team not once, not twice, but three times by standing on our star and making a mockery of it. That's unnaceptable.

2. He's a cancer who has proven over and over to cause a big distraction in the lockerroom and elsewhere.

I hate this "win at all costs no matter who you have to hire" approach by Jones. It's absolutely ridiculous. If a 6'5 230 lb terrorist who ran a 4.05 had destroyed part of Texas Stadium with a bomb I guarantee you Jerry would have done everything it took to keep him out of jail and get him playing with the Cowboys.

Man, that Owens is all-powerful, isn't he? It's amazing how much of a factor his detractors consider him during this season's 9-7 campaign...

I expect Stella to retire after this year. To that end I think she has told Jerry this will be her last year and that she will make it a memorable one. Jerry wants her to get her groove back and so he is resisting the mounting desire of much of the Front Office to waive her.

Maybe he figures Stella is a southern version of stellar.

Stella: "I'm going to be Stella this year and get my groove back."

Jerry: "We could use some stellar. Welcome back."

Nobody will want TO when he's 40. Barely anyone wants him at 35.

I am so curious who shows interest in him.

the people who I think would want him are the west coast people, and all of a sudden they are all out of the league, or named reid.

I really think he would have a heck of a time finding a team not named washington or oakland.
