I wasn't saying Owens faked the slips, only that he fell down twice where he could have and probably should have made the catch.
As for the "duh" response, well a lot of blame is flying around, but I feel Owens has had the opportunity to catch one or two more passes a game where HE has blown it. That's all I was saying. If he improves his catches vs drops/slips his play/stats and the teams play will improve. Yes, that's also a "DUH". Some people seem to think that he hasn't gotten the ball enough, and I agree. Problem is, that when he's been thrown to he has blown it more often than Witten and Glenn have from what I've seen. Witten in particular caught crap from Parcells in more than one press conference, but Owens, Mr. Sensitive, got the "no comment" approach. I understand this. Parcells has admitted to treating different players differently and I think it's wise in the Owens case. But if Owens is gonna storm off the field and sulk or whisper etc, I feel he can point a finger or two straight back at himself for missed touchdowns and dropped fourth downs and falling on his *** because he leaned the wrong way or didn't have the right cleats on, whatever.
With all the headlines going around about Owens this and Owens that or Bledsoe is a Bum or the Oline stinks, I think one headline should be Owens needs to practice what he's preaching. He's screwing up too often for what he costs us financially and other stresses. I think he'll do better.
Did anyone else slip as blatantly as Owens did on the Cowboys those 2 times. Not that I saw. Just pointing out plays where he was the one underachieving or not executing.
Just because Owens doesn't like criticism, doesn't mean us armchair QB's can't throw some his way as well. And yes, I do think he's a great player and potentially the biggest WR weapon in the league, so I have high expectations.
