That's the saddest acceptance of a condition I have ever read.

Let's recap. You're not in great cap shape. Though the cap is still going up you are pushing salaries into the future. Eventually it will bite you right in the pants. You don't have a #1 pick this year because you had to have a 1st round QB who would have been there in the 2nd. The previous 1st round pick you used on a QB is headed out of town.

Yeah, life is good there Riggo. I can see why making the playoffs and looking so mediocre is impressing you. [/sarcasm off]

see above for the short version.

as for our QB and the draft, until Gibbs proves otherwise, he knows what he's doing. he's earned that.

and i never said mediocrity was impressive. making the playoffs was a major accomplishment after years of mediocrity. that's just a fact. winning a game in the playoffs was even better.

You said you were proud. So, you're proud of something that isn't impressive?

Man, this gets more depressing as it spins.

LMAO! All summer Patrick was the man. He gets dinged, in comes Brunell. Intelligent design, or strange coincidence? LOL. Really seemed like he knew what he was doing before Brunell had his miracle year, didn't it?

As for drafting....what do you have, 3 of Gibbs picks the last two years making significant contributions?

Keep on "getting over". :laugh2:

i never said i was proud. as a skins fan, i was certainly happy to sweep dallas, sweep the eagles, avenge brutal losses to both the giants and bucs, while winning on the road in the playoffs when nobody gave this team a shot at the beginning of the season. that was impressive. if i had said i was proud of that, then i would be proud of something impressive.

i said it was 'a major accomplishment after years of mediocrity' (for the third time).

what are you smoking??

since we're talking about the draft and QB's, gibbs didnt draft ramsey. for whatever reason, he didnt seem to like him much. while i cant speak for all skins fans, most people who have seen him play seem to think he's at the least a decent QB.

from what skins fans have seen of rogers, he looks good. we'll have to see. campbell hasnt seen the field, but like i said, gibbs is practically a god with what he gets out of his QBs.

dallas lost some players after 03 and practically rebuilt. the skins are set at all positions- minus another safety and LB.

Since you seem to know so much about the 2003 team, can you tell us who we lost?

Skins are set? Wr? DE? SS? LB? OLine Depth? CB? TE?

hell, it is a major accomplishment after a dozen years of mediocrity. ;)

that said, the team needs to move ahead to the next step. no more consolation prizes in this prize closet.

So the Skins are coming out of the closet huh? Sounds like Brokeback Commanders to me.

That addresses almost none of what I said.

The point is, your QB situation was a mess before providence dropped Patrick Ramsey's decapitationin "giddy" Gibbs' lap.

Gibbs has been here for two drafts. Two drafts, three significant contributors to the team. Not exactly impressive drafting, IMO.

i'm throwing boys fans a bone, here. you should take it and be happy. would you rather i said 'you had all the same players and sucked anyhow'??

patten will return/under contract. skins may pick up a #3.
wynn and daniels are solid, if not spectacular-under contract.
they will likely resign clark or sign another safety along with a LB.
rogers and springs are starters at CB-under contract.
royal at TE-under contract.

as i said- besides LB and safety, skins are set.

Nah, we'd rather you not be completely wrong the first time. ;)

LB, S, WR, DE....

gibbs brought in brunell for a reason. he proved everyone wrong when brunell came in a played very well overall. that's not a 'mess'.

gibbs prefers to play experienced veterans over talented, mistake prone rookies. i'll take his method over mine or yours.

correction- LB, safety, possible #3 WR.

the DE's and the #2 WR are under contract.

Rob Pettiti's under contract. So is Al Johnson. So is Keith Davis, so is Scott Shanle. Doesn't mean they couldn't use replacing.

So, it's not a mess when the great Gibbs endorses one QB all summer, then uses a tiny not even game long injury to put in the guy he actually wanted in there, but didn't have the balls to appoint pre-season? Don't buy it. It was a mess.

And that method worked pretty well, back in the day. Now, you need to build your depth through the draft, something the Commanders haven't managed to do at all.

i think the skins have some nice talent at most positions. i'm biased, so, who would you replace?

Actually Sparky I've never smoked anything in my life of any kind and I don't drink or do drugs either.

So, I'll say it again in a manner that is more befitting someone who doesn't know where he is other than it is dark.

You made the playoffs after years of mediocrity. My reaction, whoop dee freaking doo. Sustain it over a period of years or do more with it and your chest thumping will be impressive. The hollow thud doesn't even have a good beat because you're playing without rhythm.
