Pacman a Cowboy! ***Mega Merge***

This better not affect Dallas taking a CB early.

Giving up a 4th-round pick for Jones is one thing, but counting on him to be in uniform this season and staying out of trouble is crazy.

Adam Jones is an extra. He can't be depended on to be in uniform and stay in uniform this year.

This absolutely cannot change their draft board.

This extortion report sounds like it could be a payoff. And there are the civil trials coming up.

This is going to go on for a awhile and there's no guarantee that this guy will ever suit up for Dallas.

Amen brother.

If the insurance claus is real and we can get our pick back next year then a 4th isnt that bad for that kind of talent.

If we cant get our 4th back then this deal is just dumb on our part.

Im disapointed we caved in though and gave up that much.

he's gonna get reinstated

if he stays clean and plays he is well worth it...he's now the 2nd best CB on our team and he's an explosive punt returner

keeps options open on Saturday too

its a win win deal for us

I forsee ultimate flexibility in the draft now.

As in, if Jerruh wants McFadden, Jerry can now go and get McFadden.

Jerruh....you got me hook, line, and sinker........ I'm buying all the way. Way to make it happen!

Exactly what I was just about to post.

That 28 is definitely going to be traded.

Whoever has a McFadden sig... might want to take it off now.

No way the Boys will be going for him now imo.

1 event.

such different perspectives. : )

Jerry always said he looked at Pacman as only a luxury to have. I also think JJ stated that it would not change how Dallas handles it's draft this year either.

This doesn't bother me in the least. A 4th round pick is very little in the grand scheme of things. Pacman can be a very good player, and even if he doesn't get reinstated/screws up again, we get the pick back next year.

That having been said, I still think Dallas needs to draft a Corner in the first round of this years draft.

We get A pick back, they didn't say anything about it being a 4th rounder.

So the draft would be:

1st - Roy Williams
2nd - Ray Rice
3rd - Best Available
4th - Pacman

I could live with that!!
Looks pretty good when you put it all down on paper.

He has stated publicly that he will play out his current contract as a measure of good faith to any team that acquires him...

I think his contract peaks out at 2.1 mil over the next two or three years...

you gotta appreciate that. we'll see how he holds up on that.

I still don't think we trade up for McFadden.

Rather, my point was, it gives us more flexibility to do so IMO.

What the hell, Jerry is an idiot for paying that much.

The Titans basically got exactly what they wanted. We went from a 7th, to a 6th and a player to a 4th and a conditional. They barely budged on a player they wanted to get rid of, and we bent over backwards to give them what they wanted.

Fantastic.

Pac hasn't played football in a year, if you guys are expecting him to pick up where he left off, you've got another thing coming.

dude chill out...they actually wanted more than a 4th originally

besides if he does play, he's well worth it...if not we get something (and perhaps the 4th) back next yr...he's a good cover CB and a tremendous punt returner...he's betetr than just about anybody we could have drafted at 22 or 28, and we got him for a 4th

I have 0 problems with this trade. Yes it is not risk free, but a 4th for a cb with this guys talent.....come on. Anyone complaining, just likes to complain. We have to be the early SB fav. If we got Boldin, 85 or Roy....good heavens.
thank you... just for a minute, can we imagine what our defense would look like next year if all goes well...to quote ken norton jr {unconscious}.:star:

who cares what it is?

geez man...we just improved this team big time and your whining about a 4th rd pick...a pick we can easily recoup (or more) by moving down a few spots somewhere

David

We spent a 4th on Skyler Green.

For this fourth, we are getting a capable CB AND a better PR/KR than Green.

Works for me.

And more importantly, we just gave our offense field position. Bam. Take that *****es.

Its all good David. TheCount is now on record as saying Pac will pretty much stink it up this year.

I actually screenshot'd the post. :laugh2:

I know its all good. I have no problem with you.

I just wanted to clear it up a bit better in what I was trying to say...

I am thrilled to hear this. I can't wait to see him shutting opposing WR's down and making a serious impact in the return game.

:welcome: to the Dallas Cowboys Mr. Adam Jones.

you and me both...

he's gonna get reinstated...and if he and Newman are healthy all yr, assuming Henry is ok for some or most of the yr and whatever CB we add via the draft, our secondary is rock solid now...and his return ability is huge...we just gained alot in field position

You have a tad bit of genius in you sir. ;)

I can't envision a scenario where Jerry hasn't talked to the Commissioner about the likelihood of Adam Jones being reinstated. When the Commish asked Jerry to go to bat for him with the Comcast and Time Warner, Jerry was right there to help the NFL out. In my mind the NFL owes Jerry a favor and getting Pac-Man reinstated might well be the returned favor.

Getting Pac-Man's talent for a 4th round pick is a steal. The first pick 6 he has or the first punt or kick off taken to the house will change everyone's mind about the kid. Dallas is in a unique position to deal with the so called "problem cases". Given the fact the Adam should know this is his last chance combined with some veteran guidance and the influence of Calvin Hill which cannot be discounted, this could very well be one of the best off-season pick-ups in recent years.

I was totally against TO coming here and that has turned out pretty well. I think Jones will fit in well here, and it gives us a better secondary immediately.
