he's gonna get reinstated

if he stays clean and plays he is well worth it...he's now the 2nd best CB on our team and he's an explosive punt returner

keeps options open on Saturday too

its a win win deal for us

David
I guess for those who thought we were going after Deshawn Jackson will be sad now, we no longer need a punt returner.

AS WE SPEAK: Werder talking about us now possibly trading for Roy Williams.

who cares what it is?

geez man...we just improved this team big time and your whining about a 4th rd pick...a pick we can easily recoup (or more) by moving down a few spots somewhere

David

We could end up with 7 picks between 5 and 7 next year. I'm not worried about a 4th. Pac plays like a 1st and will be paid less than Reeves. Can't beat that.

Nice to finally get this thing done!! Wonder if this will affect our draft strategy now with PacMan in the fold. We don't really have a hole on our roster at any starting spot now.

I've been pro the Pacman deal for some time, so don't even begin to assume I don't know what he adds to the team. I simply am not happy with how much we gave up for him.

Jerry always said he looked at Pacman as only a luxury to have. I also think JJ stated that it would not change how Dallas handles it's draft this year either.

Yeah, but I don't believe much of what he says this time of year.

I have to admit,i havent watched this much espn in a loooooooooong time

Another "hold your nose" acquisition. This truly is a mercenary business.

me either...it makes a difference, otherwise they wouldnt have pushed for a conclusion before the draft starts

we wont draft a CB in round one now...maybe a safety, but not a CB

boo, paid too much

also if he plays will probably have to give some more picks next year

Just promise to report this statement if PacMan is making picks during the season.

This trade is less than a risk of drafting a 4th rounder and him panning out?

a 4th rd pick at the end of that round is nothing...besides, per Glazer we get it back if he doesnt get reinstated

win win for us, big time

I still don't think we trade up for McFadden.

Rather, my point was, it gives us more flexibility to do so IMO.

:)

That would be only if you depended on Pacman being reinstated and being in game shape to compete.

Otherwise, JJ still looks to take a first or early second round CB in case things don't workout with Pacman.

As JJ said before, Pacman is a luxury... but wouldn't change his draft strategy. Don't forget, Newman is looking to get paid and Henry is getting up there in age.

The only way JJ trades the ranch for McFadden is if he definitely doesn't see being able to resign Barber. Otherwise, it would be a waste to pay that much money to two rbs on the same team.

Chill out, #1 it's a 4th round pick and #2, odds are by the time the 4th round starts we are likely to forget we traded away the pick. If you think Jerry is going to sit still with 2 first round picks and not recoup that 4th and add more your crazy.

I agree but the one thing you gotta be glad about is if he doesnt play we can get our pick back next year.

We did give up to much though. A 4th rounder with no bidders is crazy.

We got Pacman......YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that pick up, what a player this dude is.

David, that's too big a gamble, IMO.

There's no guarantee he'll play.

They cannot change their draft board because of this trade.

Now the best next thing that could happen (besides our having a very good draft) would be for the Commish to agree to allow Pacman to work out at VR, either separately from the other players or with them, and also to meet with Calvin Hill & his support staff at VR.

exactly...We could still end up with a CB in round one.

I don't think it makes a difference...we still need CB/RB/WR in the first two rounds.

From what JJones has said in the predraft discussion, I think he knows that it isn't worth it to pick a WR early in this years draft.

A veteran WR will be traded for, or he is content with what they already have in house along w/a mid to late round wr like Monk or whoever.
