If it takes the commish standing over him for him to stay out of trouble while a member of the NFL then great. I hope the commish does that with all the problem children in the league.

all bad kids, need a stern daddy

in time, all the bad boys, will be calling commish "daddy" :D

I think that if Pac Man is doing the time that he should go to strip clubs every day he is suspended, drink alcohol like a lush, and have his picture taken with strippers and autograph them and send them to the commish. LOL. I'd love to see what the commish would do with that one. The pictures of him with strippers shoul be in the act of getting a lap dance of course. All of that, of course, is perfectly legal.

If Pacman is smart he keeps squeaky clean while under this suspension.

Hell, had I just known. Give me 2 shots of Nyquil, let me pass out, and when I start snoring, you could pull the tooth.

Could we then drill a hole in it and make a necklace?

:laugh2: While you and I might figure that to be the best thing since sliced bread........................would never fly with the wives.

all the commish has done is got him to SAY he's going to keep out of trouble.

that's worth about as much as Antonio Bryant SAYing that he's going to stop throwing tantrums.

No doubt the ball is in Pacmans court what he does from this point on will determine if he will return in 08. I don't look at this suspension as a 1 year deal and you automatically return, Pacman needs to keep his butt out of trouble and only he can do that. I think Pacman is getting what he deserves and I’m glad the NFL is not going to tolerate it any longer.

Well, I'm with you. I absolutly hope he does just that. I'd give that particular life style about 60 days and then, PacMan would finish the job Goodell started by doing something stupid. In short, he'd find himself in prison IMO. Problem would conveniently go away.

For what it's worth, Jones said that he would not fight Goodell's decision previously. That was right before he filed an appeal as I recall. Proof is in his actions. We will see what he does from here on out.

The length of Jones' suspension could hinge on developments in Las Vegas involving a fight and shooting at a strip club during the NBA All-Star weekend that paralyzed one person. Police there recommended felony and misdemeanor charges against Jones, but the investigation continues.

Jones was the sixth overall pick by the Titans in the 2005 draft. If he misses the entire season, the suspension will cost him his salary of $1,292,500.

That "would" be the "smart" thing to do, but look at it this way, it would sure help this board in its analysis of whether Pac Man going to strip clubs factored into the Commish's sentence. LOL

It may help the board but would be a multi-million dollar risk for Pacman. If I were in his shoes I would stay away from those places. I don't claim to have lived a perfect life and god knows I have had my share of run ins with the law but I learned from my mistakes and just do not put myself in bad situation I’m careful about where I go and who I hang out with.

"Pacman" meets with Goodell, drops appeal

NEW YORK (AP) Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones withdrew the appeal of his suspension Tuesday and will serve the one-year term imposed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

"I understand my responsibilities to my teammates, the Titans and my fans and I am committed to turning my life around and being a positive member of the NFL," Jones said in a statement issued by his agent.

Jones met with Goodell at NFL headquarters Tuesday and was accompanied to New York by agent Michael Huyghue.

"Last week, I asked for an opportunity to meet privately with commissioner Goodell," Jones said in the statement. "I met with him earlier today to tell him about the steps I have taken to change my life since being suspended by the NFL. I accept the discipline that's been imposed on me and I am withdrawing my appeal."

Goodell suspended Jones on April 10 for a series of off-field episodes. He has been interviewed by police 10 times and been arrested five times since he was drafted in 2005. Jones and his attorneys appealed the suspension May 11. It could be reduced to 10 games if Jones meets all the restrictions set by Goodell.

Huyghue said Jones intended to keep working out and would go back to school, taking courses online from West Virginia University, where he played.

True...he could do what Portis does...build a stripper club in his basement, pole and all! And in the backyard? A nice carpeted "dog" fighting arena, you need to have somewhere for the strippers to fight!

and PacMan didn't have a chance in hell, which is why he's not appealing, not because he's finally seen the light

Yes but the bigger question is did Goodell have the right to suspend him in the first place?

:D

I asked that already...Fuzzy has yet to respond.:D

Wow, he's finally doing something smart. Maybe he's going to take his punishment and actually try to better himself. I hope he does.

Don't be naive, he just figured out that he couldn't win any appeal, so he's now spinning it as though he's taking the moral high ground...
