The coach that is solely responsible for making us relevant again has some amazing offspring. I sure wish Jerry had put the successor plan in place for Payton rather than the idiot ginger OC he's coddling right now.

Oh well. Congrats to the Saints. Well deserved.

Who would've thought Tom Benson would outsmart our "football" guy.

Solely responsible?

We did not have a HC opening at the time.

Well, Payton was Coach I wanted in Dallas. It's a shame we lost him but I don't blame him. He had an chance to be a head coach and he took it. Good for him, unfortunate for us.

I agree...but so did Garrett, and we're coddling him now. I just wish we had done it with a Parcells guy who actually understands offense. We basically let Michael go and brought in Fredo to run the family.

Pretty close to solely, sport. Jerry had plenty of years alone to do it. Things didn't change until Parcells rolled in with guys like Payton. The whole culture of the team changed. Now we have guys in this forum coming up with reasons that Jerry is awesome. That's fine...we're stuck with him so it's ok to have that optimistic attitude.

I just don't think a true football guy would've let such gems slip out of the franchise...particularly after dealing the with the mediocrity of Gailey and Campo's staffs.

He couldnt have, but that wont stop crybabies in CZ from complaining about it.

Didn't Jerry say he thought Sean was a goody guy in an interview recently?

I'm sure glad we have a GM that knows how to spot talent from socks to jocks

He made no attempt to keep him... promising the job when he left would have been the first step...

You should know the only approved reaction is that of the knee-jerk variety.

Maybe it has more to do with Drew Brees.

The offense doesn't mean a thing if the triggerman can't run it to near perfection when needed.
