Real Head coaches win Super Bowls
Sean Payton
Tomlin
Coughlin
Belichick
Shanahan

27 fake head coaches in this league.

Weird post... it may be Norv next year... or anyone else...

Are you saying those are the only legit coaches?

Three of those four are active excluding Payton... and only one made the playoffs... and he lost in the first round...

what the heck?

Good grief not only are you crying over something with peyton that is not rational but you are jumping garrett too?

here is a newsflash for you...parcells liked garrett and had parcells stayed garrett would have been on his staff.

and for what its worth it was time for peyton to go, he earned it. He was assitant head coach for 3 seasons and almost went to the raiders before leaving for the saints.

having said all that, I can remember many people griping about him during and after the 05 season.

The coach that is solely responsible for making us relevant again has some amazing offspring. I sure wish Jerry had put the successor plan in place for Payton rather than the idiot ginger OC he's coddling right now.

Oh well. Congrats to the Saints. Well deserved.
Payton won despite himself. He's the king of incredibly bad calls in key moments. Like his obsession with reverses in, or just out of the red zone are horrible calls. In successive games he does it! Running two run plays in a row to the weak side from a yard out? The second one was inexcusable.

Without a MVP QB like Brees to save his bacon, Payton would be just an above average coach. Let's give the credit to 32 of 39 passing.

And Parcells star has been fading for quite a while now. He hasn't won a damn thing in how long? It's about time for him to jump ship again.

No matter what, Payton deserved this win. He did what he had to do all season long after tragedy struck his family.

Besides, I'm sick of any one named Manning.;)

BP has ties to hundreds of coaches including plenty who have failed spectacularly as Weis did at Notre Dame.

Sean Payton was about the 3rd or 4th choice at OC for BP. He'd already been a head man but got canned. BP had him for juts a short while and to call him a part of coaching tree is stretching it.

All that said, Payton has taken tenets of what BP did here and kept them. He worked for lots of coaches but does give credit to BP.

But Payton wasn't a Mo Carthon who BP brought along with him in various positions at various stops.

A. What does weiss failing at notre dame have to do with parcells?
B. When was sean payton ever a head guy?
C. Why take a shot at MO Carthon? Carthon Has been hired by two other organizations having nothing to do with parcells.

Why not give credit to the guy who brought in Mr. 32 of 39 passing. The fact that Brees led the Saints to the SB only validates Payton's personnel decision. I don't see why you look at it as a knock on the HC.

Actually many very happy Payton was gone from Dallas. Quite few used to gripe about Paytom much like they gripe about Garrett. Heck same were probably griping about Mike Zimmer too.

That nature of fans. Most of them seem like don't have wholesome view, but just the blinders on for their team. Every call has to be perfect and every game has to be perfect. If not the caoches are bums seems like.

Heck I am sure, same fans would be blaming Payton for the loss if some of the gambles he took failed.

no doubt about it.

Peyton was garrett a few years ago. And many of the people here who complain about garrett everyday here now would be whining about him if he were to leave and go have the same production somewhere else.

Actually he wanted to go to Miami... but they balked at his injury and NO picked him up...

He wanted to go to a team that paid him franchise QB money. Brees could have signed with the Dolphins, albeit at a lower price tag, but went with the Saints who wanted him bad enough to offer him 60 million over 5 years, injury and all. The Phins later signed Culpepper at a "cheaper" price.

Some things never change with Jerry Jones at the helm and what's really sad is how the cowboys fans keep coming back for more of the same dumb decisions (joey galloway, roy williams, last years draft i can go on and on) it just really sucks watching a once proud franchise slowly turning into a laughingstock with Jerry Jones in control. Let's hope Sean Payton is not coaching in "Jerryworld" this time next year, that would really be hard to swallow.

Well, Payton was Coach I wanted in Dallas. It's a shame we lost him but I don't blame him. He had an chance to be a head coach and he took it. Good for him, unfortunate for us.
Sean would be nothing without the biggest move of his career, which took a TON of guts, and that's acquiring Brees. A QB can be the difference between a SB and a team that just teases you with occasional play off appearances, and meaningless regular season victories every year.

Alot of people didnt think much of Payton, including 100's of "experts" in CZ

Overreaction nation in full force again tonight.

I love how homers like this throw hissy fits every time somebody says something that differs from their rosy opinions.

I just think it's very relevant to note that we started coddling and grooming a couple seasons too late. Everyone knew Parcells wasn't longterm. We should've kept the infrastructure he built from the top down. I hope I'm proven wrong, but while we are wasting seasons of talent figuring all that out, other teams are actually winning Super Bowls with some of our guys.

This was a particularly relevant night to bring that point up and I'd love to hear some legit arguments, but if you wanna just whine like this post I'm replying to, then go read another thread that's more caressing and gentle for you.

Theebs our fans gripe every week about every thing. That point of my thread, which is unfortunately getting missed by some who think I'm overreacting and "crying", is that we should've coddled the people responsible for turning our franchise around and making us relevant again. Payton was part of that staff and he was clearly a solid coach.

Now if people want to disagree with that and give some solid reasons why, I'd love to hear them, but I'm tired of these sarcastic replies that try to light people up who don't say something homerish. I call it like it is both ways, so I don't need people labeling me here just cuz I'm not always pro Jerry. If you have a problem with that, then don't waste ur time posting here.
