2001, 2003 and 2004, not right after Parcells left.

Even in 2000, they were pretty bad and they caught a break in 2001 when Blesdoe ruptured an internal organ and on the tuck rule.

Parcells is too stubborn and thats going to be our downfall unless we make a change. He's getting too old and the game has passed him bye. look how long it took him to make a change at QB, and his stubborness about getting a real 3-4 coordinator.

It's true, look how long it took Parcells to finally bench Bledsoe. Heck, he started Vinny Testaverde despite Vinny showing clear signs at the midseason mark that he wasn't worthy. The playcalling is so ridiculously predictable at times.

The only thing laughable is the way we perform in BIG GAMES. So I guess coaching has nothing to do with that. This has happened more than once this season....Its not about just losing but how we lose. We play with no heart nor is there any leadership on this team.

Bill Parcells is not the problem. It's primarily his disconnect with his defensive staff and players.

It's clear Zimmer is not well-suited to the 3-4. At least not this year and roll the dice if you want to retain him for next year. He doesn't know it and he can't teach it; at least not with these players.

Also players like Roy, if they don't play well, must be demoted to backup or STs, benched, or dealt. You can not have starters and highly compensated players underperforming and setting a bad example.

Landry had this problem in 1983 when the defense suddenly became swiss cheese-- largely because of its linebackers and slow defensive backs (sound familiar?). He promoted Bill Bates into the starting lineup because Bates played with consistent passion. Landry even said he was the most consistent player on the team.

You have to have hungry players and play with passion to win. Find the hungriest guys and play them until they are spent. If this does not fire up the real starters then they don't belong on the team.

I always find it weird when posters come out with such enthusiasm in stating that the game of football has not passed said coach by as if that could never ever happen.

I am not saying the game has passed Parcells by, but by golly it is not impossible to think that it could.

Oh ok I guess you guys are right. Im wrong. He has no idea.

In fact maybe he should go take that kentucky job now. then again though the college game is still played with a ball and goal posts and he probably cant figure that out either.

And just like the personal attacks one makes when they can't offer a substantial defense to the issues brought forth

Anyone know what happened to Jim Bates, the former Dolphins DC who was their interim HC two years ago? He is a 3-4 guy who has been very successful in the NFL.

First off I am not attacking you.

Secondly I can defend this topic, but it is a waste of my time. You are not looking to see the big picture nor would you do anything but shoot down any positives I say about coach parcells.

You would just reply with cliches and fire him now, game has passed him by.

I would like to know from someone who thinks the game has passed him by exactly what that means to them, how has it passed him by, in what areas?

God I'm am so sick and tired of hearing the words youth , potential and talent. Those are the three words that people quote when they are comfortable with losing. It doesn't mean a damn thing if we don't produce on the field. He has to win a playoff game. Bottom line, that's it. By my count we haven't won one in a decade. Yeah thats right a decade. So its as simple as that win a playoff game otherwise he go back to Sarasota and play with his horses for all I care. When teams in this day and age can go from last to the playoffs and beyond the next year, every team is set up for the future.

I will commend you on your post. It's well written but I will politely disagree. Yesterday, it wasn't the playcalling or schemes. It was the lack of intensity shown on the field. We acted like we were entitled. We were overconfident and assumed we were going to beat them especially since McNabb was out and we were at home. We didn't play with any sense of urgency yesterday. The lead wasn't huge but it was maintained the entire game.

To me, that is an issue with the head coach. And what's unusual is that Parcells is the best at keeping his players hungry and humble. But this season, Parcells has seemed to lighten up and enjoy the success of his team. This was not a very focused team yesterday.

The point is that 10-6 (If we are lucky) does not put us up in the top level of the league. The 10-6 teams are really on the outside looking in, with the rare occasion. The 10-6 teams dont always make the playoffs. The 10-6 teams are just 2 or 3 field goals away from being 7-9 teams.

Once more: 10-6 is not a record of a "great" team.

Especially if that 10-6 team is an NFC team.

Wow. Hard to believe he is unemployed. The Dolphins defense was top of the league under him, just had no offense.

i don't want him gone at all.

he has done a brilliant job of turning this team around from the horrible setbacks of the campo era.

people forget how bad we were too easily.

I like the Tuna and think he's done a good job of managing this team and it's personalities...

But...

I do wish he would show more emotion, something more than the "glares"...

Yes they were, very good. No one ran for 100 yards on his defenses.

They are kicked our butts on turkey day in 03.

He did a good job in Green bay in 05 also. I think their pass defense was number 1. They couldnt stop the run though.

I could see if a change is made a guy like him coming in here again as an assitant, he did a good job when he was here 10 years ago.
