Silly HH, I love how A&M struggles against Tech and Baylor every year and then refuses to call them rivals but will call UT a rival when they only win once every decade against them. Strange logic and very inconsistent.

Baylor has beaten A&M what, once in the entire lifetime of current undergraduates?

Discussing sensible and thoughtful football with an Aggie is like trying to discuss thermodynamics with a vending machine, I was dumb to try.

I don't have anything against Aggies but when they defend Franchione, it really reflects poorly on them as fans. That guy has done absolutely nothing for you and you guys act like he is the second coming of Bear Bryant.

Dennis Franchione is a fraud and a moron, and few Aggies will tell you differently, That still hasnt stopped him from beating Baylor 3 out of 4 tries, including and epic 63 point beatdown in A&M's worst season in 30 years.

Quite a feather in his hat. How about the fact that the week after he ran the score up on Baylor A&M lost by the most humiliating margin in Big 12 history and then while ranked the following season lost to the very same Baylor team they had run up against the season before.

As an Aggie you really shouldn't incite inbreeding references or live stock love because they are your past time.

Come on people, I am very disappointed just like most fans on this forum that we have lost most of the important games this season. However, this will be the second time in four seasons that Parcells has led this team to the playoffs.

The best thing about the 2006 team is that it is a very talented team that is locked and loaded for now and the future. We have a franchise QB in Romo. We have a great running back duo in Jones and Barber. We have an elite WR corp. We have a very young and talented defense that will only get better. We have most of our offensive line in place.

We're probably just a defensive coordinator, RG, and OLB away from being a dominating team. In the offseason, we fire Zimmer, pick up Eric Steinbach and Adalius Thomas in free agency and have another stellar draft.

And by the way folks...

WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

Let's not get crazy and fire the entire coaching staff just yet. ;)

Come on man...this is the Dallas Cowboys not the Saints or Cardinals or even Washington...2 out of 4 is not good enough especially when you consider the first was one and done and the second is looking increasingly like it will be one and done. The Dallas Cowboys are/ should be the premier team, 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 should be what is expected not .500.

This is the problem with fans and even some players, they are fine with mediocrity. I for one am sick of it completely sick of it. I want some coach that is going to not settle for 2 out of 4 and especially the way we have gotten two out of 4.

The rest of your argument is just as sad as your initial statement. Romo is good but its still too early to crown him a franchise quarterback. Running back duo is good not great. As for these first three I could see them becoming great but nothing guaranteed. Our wide receiver corp is aged (TO, TG) although we do have some untested rookies. We have most of our offensive line in place?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING? DO YOU WATCH COWBOY GAMES!!!!!!THAT STATEMENT ALONE NULLIFIES ANY OTHER GOOD POINTS YOU ATTEMPTED TO MAKE!

Sorry our defense is average. We have no safteys, no pass rush, no penetration, one great CB one average CB one below avg. CB and Reeves.

Stellar drafts...come on...the only reason the drafts look stellar is because they were absolutely pathetic in the late 90s. they are nothing better than the low end of average now. I could go on and on about the drafts but it has been discussed in length and it does not look like you put much time (or thought) in to your post so I wont put much time in either....

Terrible post.

Once more: 10-6 is not a record of a "great" team.

THere are no great teams anymore.

There was a flukish run by the Pats for a couple of years, but the "great team" thing is over.

The Steelers were left for dead last year, then get hot at the right time. This year they are not even in the playoffs. THat's the NFL now, get used to it.

People keep calling for Jeff Fisher. He has 4 season over .500 with the Titans. FOUR.

I understand completely that Parcells has not reached lofty expectations, and the late season fades have gone beyond annoying. But I suspect a whole lot of people who became fans during the Jimmy years have unrealistic expecations about what the NFL is today.

Why is everyone saying there's no great teams anymore? The chargers look pretty damn good to me right now. Lt scores more td's than are entire team and they got a good defense.

It wouldn't be deserved, it would be the equivalent of how the refs handed Pittsburgh the Super Bowl last year and in 1978...ok not THAT bad but pretty close. It would be an unearned honor just like Romo's premature Pro Bowl invitation.

I don't necessarily want him gone, I just want to see him get mad. Really, really mad.

I want to see him put some underperforming ***** on the bench, regardless whether their respective replacements are as good as them or not.

I want him to send a message. I'm tired of him just standing there and looking sick.

I want the players to be scared of him, like players used to be.

:hammer:

I've noticed that he doesn't have the same kind of fire that he once did. Perhaps that's because of his age... that kind of stuff elevates your blood pressure etc.

Who knows. But I'd like to see the same thing that you're talking about here from Parcells.

I think that T.O. may be part of this. Someone said that he may not be part of the Cowboys next year. I think there's some truth to that.
