Again, look up, because it is apparently doing a fly by that I have not once, ever said it was about Parcells disciplining Haynesworth.

Zero, zip, nada.
Nothing's funnier than when someone misses the pont and then accuses the other person of not getting it.

I'm just giving my 2 cents on the issue, it's not directed at anyone in particular, good God
That Vermeil fly by was 2 cents worth? Okay.

Yes, but that's not all you're maintaining, and that's certainly not what is drawing the ire of so many posters. I'm not sure anyone is even contesting that Parcells knows less.
I care about the ire.

It's a good debate. Both sides are doing well. If they have "ire" oh well.

It sure seems like you do when you get defensive and call people "obtuse."

See how that works?

You made an assumption that Parcells own words dispute. Are do you disagree with that too? Because I'm pretty sure we can show that he said he had no details.

FWIW, I have not been classifying this incident as a crime, so the crime angle isn't my argument.

I didn't make any assumption at all.

I said there is nothing for Pacells to "back up". He said what he said because there was no value in saying anything else. There is no reason for Bill to show support for Gurode, because everyone on the planet with any knowledge of the situation already supports him.

Bill said he didn't "see" the play and had no comment as a polite way out of not sticking his nose where there was no reason in it being. If you want to get technical, yeah, he probably lied. So what.

Either way, I fail to see how this has any bearing on Andre Gurode whatsoever, which was your original premise. Unless you think Gurode is a morality freak who is going to be mad that Bill 'lied' to the press.

Here is what a few fans from around the league think of it.

That's an NFL forum, so homerism doesn't enter into it.

By all means then bra, point out where I said Parcells has a hand in disciplining Haynesworth. I never maintained it and it had nothing whatsoever to do with anything I've discussed.

Obtuse is an insult?

Oh man toughen up. Come on. Do I need to post a definition? It means he went off on a tangent.

O RLY?

What would be so awful about BP taking this issue to the media.

Extended media coverage may pressure the league to punish Haynseworth to the fullest. In this case, I think BP should throw his weight around some.
Apparently is serves "no purpose." Not my words and I don't agree at all.
You're replying to a post indicating that Parcells has a potential role in punishing Hayneworth. Your reply, which ridicules others' contention that Parcells has "no purpose," clearly shows your intent to tacitly argue for such a role.

Oh man, that is a reach. I was being sarcastic and that is painfully obvious.

BUt I didn't, you just missed the point.

Again, the entire free world agrees this is a crime (or a bad foul, or a bad idea, or just plain wrong, or whatever).

What gain is there in Bill pointing out what everyone already understands? Why is Gurode expecting that? WHy is Bill not pointing out the blatantly obvious to the media something that Gurode will perceive as a slight, or Bill not being behind him?

And we still have no idea what Bill said to Gurode in private, which makes this argument even more completely moot.

Actually, obtuse means 'not intelligent.' And *ahem* I'm not the one that needs to toughen up. It's YOU that said you'd be personally hurt because Parcells didn't stick up for you.

Bledsoe said he didn't see the incident.
Fisher said he didn't see the incident.
Parcells said he didn't see the incident.

I don't for a moment blame Parcells for not commenting on what he hasn't yet seen.

LOL

Obtuse is an angle between 90 degrees and 180 degrees. That is the manner in which I used it. A "tangent."

I did not use it as any kind of insult.

Uh, what does an angle have to be with a tangent? In mathematical terms, a tangent has nothing to do with angles. Obtuse has nothing to do with tangents. When you call someone obtuse, it's a euphemism for idiot. Just letting you know, so you don't use it incorrectly anymore.

Why not? Sarcasm clearly doesn't work.

Whoosh.
Actually, it was the sarcasm in the post that indicates your true intent. I fully discerned that intent.
