Not two years - three years.

3 years is a lifetime in today's NFL. It is enough time for most teams to essentially turnover a roster. It is more than enough time to at least try and find a QB of the future.

Excellent point. Look at Cincy and the job their coach has done.

one of the worst posts of the day... and that is saying something! as if we could regroup from Jerruh's neglect in two years.

Sad, very sad.

I am very critical of BP, and I am not flaming you for having another opinion. However, I would like to know what BP has done in your opinion that is setting up Dallas nicely for the future.

Three years...and it's about progress...the three biggest games against rivals in our division, Philly, NY, and Washington...and we got manhandled in all three...the score may not have reflected it, in fact we won the Eagle game...but make no mistake, we got manhandled in all three.

That ain't progress.

Let's not go overboard here man. How long did Cincy take to finally find a good team? Like 15 years man.

3 road games. missing probowlers, including the most important player on the OL and in secondary.

have the giants won a tough game on the road yet this year?

i you guy's don't see progress just about everywhere (except K and OL) and a defense being built here i'm sorry but call for a seeing eye dog.

We saw a good draft........we were overjoyed.......we saw them improving w/almost every game....that is until the later half of the season......then we have witnessed a regression. In fact we have seen a regression in the second half of a season for three years.
Blame it on injuries or whatever......but I blame it on coaching. We go into important football games not prepared and with a lack of intensity to match our opponents. Again I blame it on coaching or lack there of.

I don't need a seeing eye dog to recognize mediocrity. When one is satisfied with mediocrity.......well that's not for me......I'm tired of saying " we'll getem next year"

True, but Marv Lewis started off the same year as BP. Lewis had the team the worse record and they had the first pick in the draft. BP had the fifth worst team and the fifth pick in the draft.

Lewis has built a team with a bright future.

BP has built a team full of question marks without a clear vision or direction.

What Pro Bowlers?

Henry has never made a Pro Bowl.
Flo made the Pro Bowl in 2003 but was only an alternate last year and was not playing like a Pro Bowler this year even though he is leaps and bounds better than Tucker

This is what happens to every team in football - players get injured. Skins and Giants had injuries last week but they came out and won their games. We have collapsed.

...age is now showing this late in the season. The guys who are aging are showing their fatigue now.

In fairness to Parcells, after last year I think he saw what this team was all about. He then has clearly become committed to turning things around with younger players. There's a lot of promise with the younger players... it just didn't look like it today.

Keep in mind what Jimmy Johnson did in Miami. No coach is perfect. For my .02 I'll keep Parcells as head coach.

Maybe so.......I know I'm sick & tired of being sick & tired of seeing this team pack it in....in the second half of the season.

Shoot!!!! In late November and early December we might as well packup the old jackass and ride off into the sunset.

Last year was a mistake because we over-performed in 2003. Now one year into a complete rebuilding job it is hard to imagine some people wanting to throw BP under the bus. We are much better today than we were one year ago. You can not rebuild an entire team in one off season. If we improve the win total next year as much as we are this year BP will be touted as a genius.

We manhandled all three at home, although we lost one of them.

As an aside, this 3-4 defense is a joke. It doesn't even play to the talent on the team. It forces a guy, Ware, who played DE all his life in college to a foreign position. It puts Ellis on the bench but Shanle on the field.

And why?

Because it's all Parcells knows and rather than coach to the talent he has, he forces the talent into what he knows how to coach.
Amen...

I have posted it many times, but I find it so ironic and frustrating that Parcells openly ridiculed and sneered at West Coast Offense-oriented coaches because he said they had to have a rigid system, with very particular prototype players that usually took two or three years to accumulate, before they could do any good. Well, he claimed, anyone could put a fancy name to their system, but any football coach worth his salt should fit his schemes to the players he has, not vice-versa.

Funny how that's so ridiculous to him on offense... Yet it's exactly what he's done with his defense.

The bad news is that almost every negative thing in this thread has some truth to it. The good news is that this team has kind of competed this year at times. Next year, you would hope they could do it more consistly. In the meantime, what the heck happened?
