Nah, it's nobody's fault. Nobody's fault that this team has flushed away close to $20 million for players contributing nothing.

The NFL is about production, not nostalgia. Austin is getting paid like a Top 10 receiver and contributing nothing.

Situations like this are exactly why teams lose.

Prime pay for poor production.

If Austin was doing anything close to what some of you think, he'd be tearing up the field and not another hamstring.

But instead he's a ghost, all too willing to fade into the background until the Turk comes calling.

Austin to me is another of these WRs we have tried to plug in for Romo and is limited in his Upside.

Hurd was the same, Crayton was the same.

The team steadfastly and stubbornly refused to draft WR so we got Roy Williams in a trade, Terrell Owens as a FA that way and others.

And none of them stuck. Enter Dez Bryant.

And also Terrance Williams..high draft picks.

Finally the franchise has changed its philosophy.

Same thing in the OL.

Used to be we signed FAs to fill the holes..now we draft guys like Smith and Frederick.

It doesn't take a third eye to see the difference in our play.

I think we are still about 6-7 players away from being a real power just in our own division.

So there is much more to come.

He's taking time from younger players and not producing. Miles is now a progress stopper.

I completely disagree. Having MIles on the field right now is not all about how many catches he gets. It's about how the defense accounts for him, and the Giants and Raiders adjusted their D because Miles was on the field. This helps Dez and it helps Witten. His ability to clear out areas significantly helps this team. He may not be the payer he once was, but he is still considered dangerous by opposing defenses. That matters.

The argument that we have been playing inferior teams with Miles in the line-up doesn't cut it. This offense struggles whether we play inferior or superior teams. With Miles, this offense does look better.

We still struggled with him in the first half though, which to me, clearly indicates the primary issue is scheme. You abandon that ridiculous 12 package, the offense looks better and you move towards maximizing the potential of the players more.

Lets not forget the offense's best game by far was against Denver and Miles was out. Oakland and the Giants are bottom-tier D's and it's not like we dropped 40 on each of them.

I wasn't bringing race into it. He's been labeled the next Wes Welker and its not because he plays for the Pats. Its because he looks like him. But that's where the comparison stops. Amendola is NO Wes Welker and never will be. Just like how in the NBA when all those foreign 7 footers who could shoot 3's came in to the league they were all the next Dirk? Its the same with Wes Welker.

Amendola has proved nothing in this league including this year but he's hands down better than a healthy Miles. How you came to this realization.....only you will know.

The Amendola/Welker comparisons are mostly because Amendola played the same position as Welker did at Texas Tech. Same college, same position(even as punt returner) led to the comparisons.

Amendola has 8 career TD receptions. He averages 9.1 yards per reception, which would be a low number for a tight end. He has value in the NFL, but not many teams would rush to sign him to be one of their primary threats.
