Terrence Steele as a starting tackle Dak yr 9 still searching for an NFCCG let alone a SB the run defense those are major concerns .

Parsons I hope is a lifer in Dallas who has a SB ring in his future and # 11 in the ring of honor . Complaining about him is ludicrous.

I just don’t remember guys like Fred Dean & Charles Hayley as stout run stuffers . They disrupted the passing game hounded the QB what Parsons has brought to Jethro Clampetts casa since day ONE .

Meh starting to think the only things this guy actually does well is sexually assault rookies and disappear at the end of the regular season.

Subtract Parsons from the defense let a blue chip player walk and who’s putting pressure on the QB ? DLaw is maybe a yr removed from golf .

Put of all the things wrong with this organization...seems like using Parsons to justify your stance just seems far fetched......he's the least of my concerns.
Exactly.....we are talking about the best defensive player this team has had since DWare and fans are already running him out of town before he completes his rookie deal.

You may be spon on with that assessment, but it's a different league than it was in the 80s & 90s too. I still think Parsons is a net positive player despite his flaws....and net positive by a good margin. With that said though in the modern version of the game where DTs are smaller/quicker to get to the QB and LBs are being replaced with DBs you really need your edge players to be able to both maintain contain on outside runs and crash inside to close off the B gap.

Ill be interested to see what Zimmer does with him and if he plays more LB on early downs this year. Given his size he is much better equipped to play the run at the 2nd level.

213 tackles in 50 games.

142 solo tackles

40 sacks

89 QB Hits

7 forced fumbles

237 times Trucked for a 10 yard rushing gain
Which is funny considering he had above 90 run stop percentage before he came to Dallas and is used primarily as a pass rusher

Exactly, his job under Quinn was to rush the QB, full bore. Hard to stop the run when you have blinders on for the QB. I also hope Zimmer can make him a more well rounded player.
Absolutely and that goes for the entire defensive front too. Outside of Lawrence I didn't see many guys up front making their reads very often. In theory better play against the run should lead to more sacks for Micah. I can't stress how different rushing the passer is on 3rd and 8 vs 3rd and 2 which the Cowboys were in a massive amount of those 3rd and shorts last year.

We should see pretty quick if the issues in the run game were player issues or scheme issues.

Micah Parsons is the most skilled pass rusher in football and offenses fear him, I have zero doubts about that. He is also a liability in the run game who teams target. Micah Parsons is literally everything good and everything bad about the Cowboys summed up in one person.
I wonder how many other DE's in the league are allowed to be a 100% Pass Rusher by the Defensive Coordinator.

He is double teamed 35% of the time on passing downs and is left unblocked on rushing plays right at him. So I guess it evens out.
