Parsons, like majority of players, enjoy spitting out poison with cliches of : " I want to be a lifelong ____________ player"
Parsons are easily be a life-long Dallas player but want to NEXT record breaking deal or he feels disrespected.
NFL will eventually be on a strike in one form or another. Can't have a team with 3-5 players soaking up 50% of the salary cap. Players really don't care about winning a Superbowl over wanting the contract(s) that sets them up for the rest of their life. They can buy their own ring(s), along with all the other "toys". Fans want the Superbowl, players want the money, while they can still play.

The front office leaders, Jerry and Stephen Jones are horrible at signing their star players. We have seen this sloppy nonsense nearly every time over all of these years.

The players and coaches change. The only constant are The Cavemen. So, don't put it all on Parsons, Sully. We saw this with Emmitt Smith in 1993 and no way you can tell me he didn't want to win SBs. The Jones boys are clumsy with this. Period.

This fan base makes me laugh.

Parsons isn’t to blame here. This front office is a joke.

Both are to blame. Try doing what Parson is doing at your own job. Tell them that you want to keep working at the job but unless they pay you the HIGHEST salary, at your position. If they don't then the company is to blame. You really want to stay there but will not be disrespected.

Sully I understand what you’re saying although I disagree somewhat in comparing what pro athletes do and what we normal humans do in the workplace.

I would also add that most NFL organizations…in fact almost all NFL teams do their contract squabbles privately for the most part and don’t wait until training camp to or later to get deals done. The better teams (unfortunately like the egirls) get their star players done by the spring so they can 100% focus on OTAs, TC, and getting ready to start the season.

The worst part of all this: They will cave and end up paying Micah at least $4-5 million more than they had to because they want to have these circus public negotiations. It’s stupid.

Jimmy Johnson called Jerry out in 1993 when Jerry refused to pay Emmitt as the top paid RB in football and the defending SB champs started 0-2. Jerry ended up (after all that posturing) paying Emmitt exactly what he asked for anyway. The Cowboys went on to win the SB again in ‘93.

It will never make sense to me to pretend to play “hardball” then give the player everything they asked for after wasting time and money. It literally makes zero sense. Unless JJ just wants the pub.

jones family are clueless when it comes to contracts over the last thirty five years they overpay a average tightend then are too cheap to pay one of there best players to what he deserves in parsons. just pay the guy and get this over or just trade him and be done with it.

Sullen Sully  Did you ever think that the players want both? It is possible you know.

Honestly this is very common in the workplace these days for top performers that have other companies interested in them. The only difference is Parsons has less leverage than say a highly sought after finance person who can actively talk with other companies and give their current employer a pay me or I’m leaving ultimatums.

Not if I went to the company last year asking for them to commit to me and they told me, “nah we will wait”

I'm not a big Pete Prisco fan but he's been saying for years that the 3 most important things to (most) players are IN ORDER:

1) Making as much money as they possibly can
2) Making the HOF
3) Winning a Super Bowl

I hate that people make 20-60 mil a year to play a game. To entertain us. Hate it. NIL is going to ruin football if they don't reign it in. This my perspective as a fan.

But, if I played a game that each and every play I'm risking rest of my life living in pain, I already do now deal with chronic pain , I'd want as much as I could too. After football care is expensive and the league has done a poor job of taking care of players when they leave the game.

Owners, for the most part want an ROI. That's why they own teams. What that return looks like is going to vary by owner. Jerry values the cash side if it, I'm an era where players want more and more.

I see both sides.

Players, coaches, owners, league front office want money. They are all chasing it. Ridiculous to single out any individual because they are doing the same. Home town discount only applies to players? Do you expect the owners to charge less when players play for less? Oh right that would never happen.

If I was the Cowboys front office, I'd give Micah Parson's same treatment they gave Prescott.

I think Micah Parsons should play out his contract and get Franchised.

Blaming the players for wanting more money ......

Meanwhile

In 1995 Jerry Jones was worth 900 million dollars.

After 30 years of failing to win anything he is now worth 17.1 billion

And people claim the players do not deserve the big contracts.

What’s to stop Jerry from having him play this yr under the current level then franchising him in 26 ? And to take this a step forward under the contracts being handed out how soon will over the air “ free “ network broadcasts become past tense . Welcome to Thurs night “ Prime “ on Sundays & Mondays .

By the way the NBA ratings are in the toilet . Goodfella Jones The players should study that to be avoided.

I'm already tied for the highest paid at my position.

People want to be paid their value no matter how far you go back. But the more money that's in it, the more it becomes about money than winning. Do you think the NFL would have some of the best athletes in the country if it paid 50k a year?
