Absolutely. Even more so on a macro scale, to get from under Wentz’s abysmal deal (and profit from it incredibly), do a slight rebuild, to looking like perennial contenders for the next few years is impressive. I know they’d never in a million years let him go, but I’d take Howie as our GM if I had one wish for any type of coach/FO piece.
- i actually laughed Philly off when they went back through the losing once HC Doug Peterson crew was canned, only 2-3 years away from last winning a SB - even over the rare dynasty led Pat
- I laughed when once prized QB Wentz went on such a rapid decline such that the Eagles could not wait to get rid of him.
- They decided to choose WR Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson in the 1st round,.. and thought they returned to mortal planes for years to come.
- i thought 2nd rd pick Jalen Hurts who was never an accomplished NFL pure passer and would be a just a gimmick QB at best.
But both Hurts and the present coaches made remarkable improvements in his game. He's a legit dual threat as both runner and passer.
- Management overcame the Reagor disaster pick with drafting Devontae Smith and making the big trade for pro bowler WR AJ Brown.
Hurts was provided with a helluva upgrade weaponry on offense - where's our upgraded weaponry ?
Then comes the upgrades on Defense - Hasson Reddick, Chauncey Johnson and James Bradberry FA sign ons, ..the mid season.addition of vet DTs Suh and Joseph,
Reddick and Johnson with career years and first time Pro Bowl .
- We'll see what becomes of DT Jordan Davis, and if that's not enuff, Philly has manuever to get two first round picks, including a top 5 overall pick per NO Saints.
