When Dak has an all pro season this year, he will be getting a large portion of the new found salary cap money next year. I hope both of those things happen. :D

Pay Zack Martin

Don't mean to be a contrarian here - but why does everyone want to renegotiate a player who still has two years left on his rookie deal? Isn't it better to pay Zack during the 2018 offseason? Redoing it now gains us nothing.

Having said that, I have no idea what else we could do with this cash.

It's called managing a cap without erecting crosses at a later point in time, due to lack of cap room.

That's really swell , now show me what he did after he signed the big contract and how much per game we paid him to do that.

Since we can make statements in hindsight, just say the Cowboys refused to resign Tony and after 2013 he walked. Who was going to be our QB. There has been no tangible QB free agents because teams don't let starting QB's walk. So who? Go out back and pick a WB off of the QB tree. Staubach or Aikman wasn't walking through the doors.

I guess in hindsight we could have hoped we were in position to draft a QB. This is where your hindsight says we could have been bad enough to draft a high first round QB. Would you be happy with Bortles, Manziel or Bridgewater? No you will look at that draft and say we could have drafted Carr. SMDH at hindsight.

Romo signed a very good "team friendly" contract for what starting QB's was signing for. You say that they know he had a bad back and hide that with a cyst lie, really prove it. I heard assumptions but have not read that anywhere but here in the Zone by our forum doctors. If they were certain his back wasn't good enough to play, they would not have signed him.

Since signing the contract his problem has been his collarbone twice until that awkward hit that probably would have broken anyone's back.

They gambled he would stay healthy and lost. But then again, in hindsight what should we have done.

Waiting on all you internet GM's to respond.

I never make it to the cash flow issues...the Cowboys simply needed Tony Romo at a top shelf level. I respected that self-standing...

They knew we had a bad back, so once again how much money did Tony Romo get paid per game after he signed that contract, we'll see what a great deal it was.

Huh? What? Why on earth would we significantly raise Dak's salary cap cost several years before his very friendly rookie deal is up? Lets take advantage of his lower salary while we can and spend those funds elsewhere.

I agree with you, but I bet he still gets a new contract.
