Obvisously, Seattle will be hampered with back up cornerbacks. They will concentrating very hard at helping their inexperienced corners with safeties and linebackers. Sure Dallas should try to find T.O. and Glenn against guys just signed off the street, but it should really open up other options as well. I think this should open up dump off passes to running backs underneath and create more room for Witten. Take the easy stuff early and bide time until the one on one outside matchups materialize. There should be several opportunities for big plays and Dallas has to capitalize.

Awesome - a thread about our actual playoff game - ;)

I think what you're saying is how we really need to go. Their safeties, if possible, have been worse than ours. Boulware can't cover at all, and blows assignments all the time. No doubt they will want to cover for that, in addition to the CB woes. (Of course, I believe Boulware is not playing full-time anymore....but it'sbeen bad regardless. When teams have to do that, I expect them to blitz alot. Romo's recognition and checks will be key. He's got to get the ball out right away, instead of his dancing against Detroit.

I agree 100%.... we should be doing that regardless... a nice dump off to Barber where he has some open space to get a head of steam.....:

I said the same thing in another thread, only I asked for Jones to get a swing pass here and there, take advantage of his speed.

This is one thing I really don't understand. We have two backs with different characteristics. The one that **allegedly** is better in space and has better wiggle never gets the ball in space and given rein to operate.

Why not?

Quite honestly I dont care which RB gets it... as long as it works.... difference is.... MB3 will bang(notice my exploding balls) and roll..... JJ will run into piles and tacklers...

Romo's percentage of passes thrown to running backs -- 9.5 percent -- is the lowest in the league.

Our backs have about 30 receptions all year. A RB screen is like a trick play for us.

I'd like to see Julius actually run the wheel. Is that even in our playbook? This kid is the most dangerous in the secondary and beyond..

No, it's written on the back of a napkin and in the back of the playbook.

They ran the RB wheel route in the first game against Jax. Turned into a big gainer.

Trick plays were a big reason Seattle lost to Pitt in last years superbowl.

Doesn't Jones have the stigma for bad hands? I havn't seen him catch a pass in so long I don't remember. I would have a RB in the flat, owens running the intermediate stuff and slant's (as long as his arms stay long) and Glenn running the distance routes. A little Witten here a little Witten there. I would love to see Crayton more involved.

It was on the page BP used as a napkin when eating wings.

This has been missing from our offense all year. In fact, it seems to have gone with the departure of Sean Payton unfortunatly. Really a shame too because it's a very easy way of opening up the offense. Especially against a cover two. This year, we only have a total of 32 catches between our starting RBs. That's really pretty bad IMO. That's down from the year before when we had 53 between the two and a real departure from the 03 season when we had 69 from Richie Anderson alone. Don't know why we haven't used it much. It's really been a sore spot with me I suppose it's never too late to start.

He's been much better this year than any other years. Granted, I still hold my breath if they toss one his way, but he's looked fairly smooth catching them out of the backfield this year.

Well, I would not call him an accomplished WR by any means but it's like anything, you gotta work on it and then you have to have opportunities. I mean, it's not like he can't catch the ball. In his rookie year, he caught 17 passes in 8 games. Last year he caught 35 in 13. This year, 9 catches in a 16 game schedule. We just plain have not been using this part of our offense. Have no idea why.
