thanks for the list , saved that for reference.
For every good player they have also drafted a lemon or a bust.
I guess every team does .

The jones boys have built 4 SB capable teams,
2007
2014
2016
2022
all failed to get to SB due to poor coaching , and who hires the coaches? the jones boys.
Also the jones boys tend to make some goofy moves, and meddle when they shouldnt in those years.

It took the jones boys 2-3 years to see that pollard should be the main back, and that is just too long lol.
These type things add up, and can keep a team from reaching a goal they could have reached.

Exactly…overperformed drafting and sorely underperformed coaching it

I remember that game well. I was never more happy for a meaningless win in the grand scheme of things than this game if for no other reason than avoiding the embarrassment of becoming the first (at the time) 0-16 team. That it was against Washington was poetic justice.

Interestingly, just 7 years prior the Cowboys were the only team to beat Washington, and thus prevented an undefeated season even if it was a strike shortened year.
I’m not clear why the opposing team’s name, Commanders, was changed in my post. It’s a historical fact that they were the Commanders then, not the Commanders. While I applauded the name change because I’m especially sensitive to the genocide inflicted upon Native Americans, do you think the HOF changed all references to games, records, and players from Commanders to Commanders? They are the Commanders. They were the Commanders.

They are knuckleheads sometimes who every 2/3 years are trying to clean up their own mess. The mess that always set up back a year or two. I mean getting rid of Dez wasn't the problem but trying to replace him with a couple of bottom feeders was just crazy. But what 5/6 games into a potential losing season it hit them ( oops, we messed up ) but then it's costly to clean up.
Yessir -- just when things seem to be getting favorable to making an honest bid for postseason glory, Jerry & Stephen make catastrophic decisions that take all the steam out of otherwise solid post season preparations. It's been an ongoing pattern that repeats itself far too consistently. The backlash from these errors take far too much time and effort to overcome efficiently. I think many of us have even come to expect it. It's just sad.
