Regardless it’s still a comparison. Mahomes compares much more favorably to Brett Fave. Favre was the QB that Mahomes was compared to coming out of college. Romo didn’t have near the arm that Mahomes has and couldn’t run down the field the way Mahomes can. Romo was a gunslinger and Mahomes is a gunslinger that’s where the comparison ends. I can’t imagine Mahomes is flattered being compared to a QB that was known for untimely turnovers and choking in big games. At the beginning of Dak’s rookie season in 2016 Bayless was comparing him to Cam Newton who is coming off an MVP year. He wouldn’t dare compare Dak to Newton now. Lol
You're taking this way too literally and it comes off as personal. It's light hearted. Skip is an idiot so I if ore what he has to say anyway. Sherman has his reasons for the comparison since he has played against both. Mahommes said he grew up watching Romo and likes the comparison. They both improvise a lot especially when things break down. It's not a huge deal. Let it go and enjoy....life's too short my friend.

Nothing personal about my comments I gave an opinion. I’m certainly not going to waste anymore time discussing this. I gave my opinion.

How are you a top 5 quarterback with one playoff win?

There are elite quarterbacks who have never won the big game and mediocre bus drivers who have. Why it's a team game.

Most superbowl bound teams usually have stout defenses. Romo got to play with some medicore to atrocious defenses bar 2009 as a fluke. Dont get me wrong thinking Romo is not to blame however we had bigger issues. Plus throw in coaching....we see how that has worked out aye

You're mad for no reason. There wasn't even any analysis. Romo ain't Mahomes. It doesn't take analysis to say that lol. Go look up how many interceptions Romo had his first two years in the league and go look at what Mahomes has in TD/INT ratio. ITs embarrassing to compare them. Romo threw 13 picks in 10 games his first year. Go look at what Mahomes did his first year than get back to me.

So Romo is better at Mahomes than everything I listed? Interesting.....

Yeah I'm confused by that too. Mahomes accomplished in one year what Romo couldn't do in his whole career. Brett Favre should come before Romo or Aaron Rodgers.

Naw man....there ain't no planet where you would ever compare Romo to Mahomes. Mahomes has been a MV and been to a Super Bowl all in the 2 years he's been starting. There ain't no comparison man I don't care if y'all want to use that gunslinger mentality y'all want. Romo's best years he wasn't even a gunslinger.
Nobody anywhere said Romo was Mahomes
Nobody
Then you guys get your panties in a wad and say Romo isn’t Mahomes—and proceed to diss Romo at every turn.
For no reason because nobody claimed he was Mahomes in the 1st place

All they said was that there was a part of his game that had some similarities.
Mahomes thought it was a complement

but you guys go nuts about Romo not being worth a crap in any way.

pathetic and totally misguided

Mitch Trubisky reminds me a little of Romo. I see a few comparisons there.

Pretty obvious they are similar in the fact that they both were capable of thinking fast, and turning nothing into something.
Mahomes is hard to scheme for because he can improvise on the fly like no one I have seen in a very long time. Romo
was exceptional at buying time, and improvising as well.

But, I expect Mahomes to get better... Think about the fact that the QB position, we see a lot of their best play in their late
20s through their mid 30s. He is only 24yrs old...

If he doesn't get hurt badly... man he is going to be a nightmare that just gets worse and worse for teams.

The dude came from another planet. I am pretty sure they should take a skin sample.

The way Mahomes plays, like I said in another thread... it will cost them at some point. But, the good looks like it will outweigh
the bad by an ungodly amount.

I love watching this kid play...

But, I still think SF will beat them, and I think their defense is going to give him a really hard time. I don't expect to see the
typical Mahomes in this game.

I really expect both teams to give the QBs and RBs in this game a hard time...

These two teams seem so evenly matched, that I actually can't wait to watch this game.

His face while in a helmet, yes.

Yep that’s the main thing you nailed it! Even the way he moves around extending plays reminds me a little of Romo. I’ve seenTrubisky do a few Houdini spins. He’s also kind of excitable like Romo was when he makes a play.

There’s a few plays in this vid where he moves around a lot like Romo. On the third play he does a Houdini spin. He’s clearly faster than Romo ever was but his quickness is similar to Romo’s when Romo was younger.

I like Mahomes too, and I think he's a great player. But one thing I was thinking about today is longevity, and the power he throws the ball with from all kinds of awkward positions. I imagine that could beat on his shoulder pretty quickly, and if his athleticism fades, does he have the mechanics to compensate?

I appreciate the respect between players. I have always admired how well Romo talks about others (including DaKota) and I hope Dakota will eventually receive the same respect from someone like Mahomes.

I hate Dallas lost that game to the team that few weeks later became SB champions, I believe the Midgets were very lucky that season..

I still don't understand how after so MANY years some people keep crying about this play as if it was 2 & 10 with 12 minutes to go on the 3rd Qtr. … just it wasn't !. they see the INT but forget it was on the 4th Qtr 4&11 with 16 secs left on the game, literally the last play of the game!... what you wanted him to do? all receivers covered throw it away to "save time"? ... oh wait it is 4th down!!!! …. or had he scrambled and being stopped short of goal line or even short of the 12th yard (for a 1st and goal with no time left) people would still be crying about it.

I am not defending Romo, he made many mistakes during his career, but blaming the playoffs loss on this one play is stupid, bring other elements from that game that brought us to 4th and 11 with 16 secs left on the game and you will have my attention,. heck, if I remember correctly Romo had an INT earlier that game, but I won't blame him from trying on the last play of the game just as I don't blame him for "the catch" vs GB on a 4&1 with 4+ minutes left on 4th, both plays were aggressive instead of conservative, and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

So.... Yup, literally ANY pass....

Yeah that was what I was saying... it really depends on him staying healthy. Although QBs have been about as safe as you can get in the NFL with all the changes.

But, yeah.. I could see that wear and tear being a factor, like you said.
