He didn't play in the slot last year and graded out better than what our team rolled out weekly...

Robinson enjoyed a breakout season in San Diego this past year, grading out as PFF's No. 28 overall corner out of 118 qualifiers, playing well in coverage and against the run. Prior to 2015, the former first-rounder was probably closer to being out of the league. Robinson comes with some risk, but he could prove to be a bargain signing as long as his market doesn't get out of control. Mar 7 - 5:57 PM
The chargers having good pass rush also had something to do with that.

If a FA CB is signed, and one is drafted, I believe Carr will be cut after June 1.

I think this is correct. No need to rush to cut Carr at this point. Signing Robinson is an upgrade and Carr is insurance, and if we get more youth and talent at the position-- Carr as a June 1 cut makes the most fiscal sense as well.

To be honest, with Scandrick back and healthy-- if we add Robinson and are somehow able to get Ramsey-- this secondary suddenly starts to look pretty formidable.

Never was a big fan of Morris. Had a nice rookie year(2012), but regressed every year since. Not the fastest of rbs either.

A lot of that is Scheme. They drafted him to work in Shannahan's Offense and in his first two seasons, in that offense, he was great. The change of the scheme and the decline of the OL is what has hurt Morris IMO. He did not have a great season last year but honestly, the Commanders OL was not all that either. I like the Cowboys bringing him in and taking a look. I think he could be one of those guys who nobody is really paying much attention to who might surprise.

I agree very much with your view. Morris is probably eager for a fresh start just like DMC was last year.
The prospect of running behind this OL should be more than appealing to him to jumpstart his career again.
This signing, if it occurs, could be a win...win for player and the team. We'll see!

I do believe this team is going to draft someone this season which is why an Alfred Morris signing just puzzles me unless he is competing with McFadden.

Why?

Because it will just show how simple this offense is. We will carry four running backs going into the year and while Dunbar is a position all to himself, we will just be letting teams know we are passing when he is on the field which bothered me last season. Oh well, maybe it's just me...injuries will happen and if we plan on running the ball a lot, might as well have 4 capable backs.

It's very likely that Dunbar will not be able to participate in TC and will miss at least some of the regular season. We have to be prepared
to run this ball to attempt to keep Romo out of the hospital. We really could function without a FB by letting LC move to blocking back and
putting Leary in at LG. Carrying 4 RB's makes sense for what we want to do offensively this year.

Dunbar might start out on PUP, but it's just an ACL, and he'll have had ~8 months or so to rehab before camp starts. He won't miss much. It'll be interesting to see what we end up doing at RB. I think we sign Morris and then draft somebody in the 3rd or 4th and bring 4 to camp. We might actually keep 4, but if we do, it comes at the expense of an extra WR. With Dunbar on the roster, that's possible.

Before he got hurt, Dunbar was on the field at the same time as Randle and McFadden several times. They split him out of the backfield and still ran the ball.

This offense is about as vanilla and bland as it gets, but I don't see having more talent at runningback as an issue.

No creativity on offense hardly (we still don't use Dez right as well) which is terrible for a NFL caliber team Imo

It was not just an ACL though. He also suffered a torn patellar tendon. It is same thing that Victor Cruz has been sidelined with and what effectively ended Jerod Mayo's career. That is not an easy combination. The rehab on the rupture itself is 6-8 months.

Ah, you're right, sort of. It was the ACL and the MCL, which is a much bigger deal (patellar tendon is gross, because the kneecap slides up into the quad, but it's not a big deal in terms of stabilization). But he tore the ACL and the MCL, and the MCL is a biggie.
