Agree, plus I doubt Dallas was offering him 12MM over 3 years. Maybe the chance to earn that much, but I would be Indy's offer was considerably better than any other offer he got.

Structure is what matters, not just dollars
Very good point

Cowboys taking more L's than Meek Mill this offseason - a reference no one will get.

A guy taking less money to play for a team like the Colts - we have have hit a new low, and I haven't even been stressing this offseason.

Maybe he was worried he couldn't beat out the mighty Brandon Carr or the legendary Morris Claiborne.

I get the reference but he actually took more money to sign with Indy....

It sounds really stupid on the surface, him taking less money to go to a worse team... but I'm telling yall Jason Garrett has to be a turn off for theae free agents. He's so awkward, dorky and weird. I couldn't imagine being a free agent listening to Jason Garrett saying "we really like you as a football player" with that creepy smile on his face.

Except he didn't take less but considerably more

So does everybody not know how to read or what? He is getting more money from the Colts, not significantly more, but still more.

After Indiana state tax, it's the same deal basically. For him, he has a guaranteed starting spot there. He at least has some competition here especially if they don't cut Carr.

No big deal, from a playing standpoint Hall is a better corner, but he is a slot, whereas we pretty much need an outside corner if we are going to get rid of Carr. I'd see if Tillman has anything left in the tank, or Cromartie. Sterling Moore is the weird one...he is younger than I thought and seems to be half decent yet he can't keep a job.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The reports are we offered 5.5m guaranted...and that they offered 6m. After Indiana's state income tax is taken out it is very close to the same deal.

It is not out of the realm of thinking that players want to be wooed.

They wooed him.

We gave him Bisaccia. And some phone calls.

Bisaccia pulled a bizarro Robert Conrad:

Unfortunately i get the meek mill reference and its true. Shame how we keep losing out on these free agents back to back.....

Agree that it probably felt second class. From the team's standpoint, it probably is a question of do we want to get him in here first, even if we can't make our best pitch, or do we risk letting him go somewhere else first?

It was not like he was not sitting out the first wave of free agency.

How does that 2.5m deal for Prince Amukamara look right now? Or for Carroll?
Robinson isn't noticeably better than either.
