It costs no draft picks or future salary cap commitment so it's a good move. No risk at all and high reward potential. Even if he doesn't play in 2016, they get an extended look at him and can decide to give him a deal in 2017 if it looks like he can fit in there.

JG sees dui and blows it off (not rkg), BB takes all factors into consideration and grabs him.
heck you can always cut him later.

JG makes decisions on player acquisitions? I'm sure he has input but it's not his decision to make.

Put some blame on the Hardy debacle for any hesitancy on behalf of the Cowboys.

My real point was how the move was considered good for the Patriots, yet if Dallas signed Floyd I bet they would be grilled for it..

LaFell was money for them in 2014 all the way through the Super Bowl, where he scored a TD.

He had 29 yard and a TD in the Super Bowl. Not trying to discredit a Super Bowl TD, but in the system the Patriots run, Lafell wasn't all that special.

Again, he'll be a guy who gets them 800-900 yards and be spit back out in a year or two. That's just who the Patriots are at that position.

well I see your point, but hardy was a big target for media, and got paid many millions ,signed a 1 year deal.'
that is far from picking up up a guy cut in week 15 for little $.
If there is a comp pick angle, then there is that too along with you might get some use out of the guy.
NE acted quickly so they were on top of the whole deal.

You don't have to be drunk to get a DUI. I've never had one, never even been pulled over by a policeman other than for speeding, but I've been behind the wheel many times after a couple drinks with dinner or at a party, and sometimes that's all it takes.

I'd have no problem had Dallas brought in Floyd. In most professions you don't lose your right to earn a living just because you made a legal mistake like a DUI or even being accused of domestic abuse. I'm not soft-peddling those offenses or drug offenses or anything else that's harms or could harm others. There should be legal ramifications and subsequent required treatment, but I don't think you should lose your right to earn a living in your profession unless there are multiple offenses, a lack of remorse, or a loss in productivity.

He has a history of DUIs and problems with alcohol.

He got suspended in Notre Dame for having blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. At the time of that arrest, it was already Floyd's "third run-in with the law over alcohol since 2009."
