Brady is the man. Deflated balls. Spy Gate. Smurf receivers. No running game. The guy wins.
He is better than Peyton. PERIOD. I don't want to hear any more nonsense about Peyton Manning being better than Brady.

Do you remember a guy by the name of Trent Dilfer? :) Don't get me wrong I think a great QB gives you much better odds but it is absolutely not the single factor.

Maybe not one Super Bowl. But six?
Usually, the teams that have great quarterbacks win multiple championships.

That was a fluke if I might say, or at least a fluke via a pack of werewolves on defense. Brady has taken them to 10+ years of relevance. Billy helps, but it's easy to be good when you have a great one. Ugh and I hate Brady I want to say he's overrated but at this point you can't deny I guess.

I don't agree that Brady is the GOAT but I gave you a like for saying Peyton sucks. I don't think I've ever hated a QB more.

  • 6th Round QB (Albeit possibly the greatest QB of all time)
  • Two small possession guys (Edelman and Amendola) as their WR1 and WR2
  • Their starting RB was picked up on waivers during the season and is basically a journeyman
  • Average OL
  • Average to slightly below average pass rush
  • Leading rusher had 412 yards for the season
I don't love the Patriots, I don't even like them, but it's hard not to admire so much about them.

Ther'es nothing to admire about a team that has cheated. They have a great system of cheaters. Plus they play in a weak AFC. I don't take anything away from them though. Bellicheat is a great head coach. No way around it. He went 11-5 with Matt Casell.

I don't discount the importance of a great QB. I just think it takes a hell of a lot more than that.

Maybe you care about Deflategate but I don't really give two squats.

That's true. Elway didn't get his two Super Bowl rings until he got a running game. But the quarterback is very important.

I didn't say he was the best ever. But he's better than Peyton.

I'm just glad the Seagulls lose. I moved to Seattle about five months ago and I've never been to a city with more fair weather fans. ***Respect to the real Seattle fans that I've met, but they're few and far between.*** And I'm coming from having spent the past seven years in Miami where we had the infamous fans who walked out of the NBA Finals. *** But back to Seattle.*** If you've never been here, it's a unique city. It's a place where people make fun of sports and call it "So American." The reason for my hatred is I've been seeing people who started wearing Seahawks jerseys after Week 16 after they stopped wearing them after Week 4 who were saying things like, "To be honest, I don't know the first thing about football, but I'm so glad we're winning because it's such a cool feeling when the city is so amped up."

I care about it all. All of the cheating allegations that have been proven I care about them all. Because if they are cheating with something as simple as deflating footballs who's to say they aren't cheating at other things? Only things we know about is what they got caught doing.

And to think it all started in the snow on a defining call vs the Raiders

The "cheaters" argument is silly, really. It doesn't take away from what they've accomplished.

-Highest winning % of any NFL team in the past 15 years, 2nd highest in pro sports (Spurs)
-6 Super Bowl appearances in 14 years
-4 Super Bowl wins
-Brady, a 6th Round QB, is arguably the greatest of all time and now has 3 SB MVP's
-Other than Randy Moss for 2 years & now Gronk the past 3, Brady hasn't exactly had a bunch of weapons surrounding him throughout his career. He's had a bunch of overachievers who have been plugged into the system.
-Very average O-Line these past 3-4 years.
-26th ranked Defense this year... and haven't had a great defense since their first 3 Super Bowls.

It's pretty remarkable what they've been able to accomplish since Belichick and Brady's first year together tbh. They have the best coach in the league by far, whether they deflated those balls or not. I certainly don't condone cheating, and if they purposely did it then shame on them. But, that was one half of a game they dominated regardless. It didn't affect the outcome of the game. This team has been really special, one for the ages, and will be remembered throughout history.

Belichick is good, but let's see how good he is without Brady.

It's another example of a good/great coach growing or catching lightning in a bottle with a good/great QB, just like Starr/Lombardi, Noll/Bradshaw, Walsh/Montana, Johnson/Aikman, etc.

My guess is that when Brady retires, Belichick walks himself.

In fairness, I firmly believe Walsh made Montana, not the other way around. He introduced an offensive system no one could counter, and because of the nature of the league at the time you couldn't or wouldn't quickly change your defensive system to counter it. In the current age of free agency and salary caps, Brady > Montana IMO, if only because Montana played in an era when a dynasty was sustainable.

Yeah Dave hard to argue. They are cheaters but they are also a step ahead of everybody else and have been for a long time.

I will go one further in that their drafting over the years has been top tear. That with the best HC and one of the best QB to play the game is the reason they have been on top for so long. When Belichick or Tom leave they team will drop back into the pack, but you have to like what they have done for the last 10 years.
