After the implosion in paradise, belichick rid the pats of brisette ( sp), garoppolo, amendola, and solder. Does he have an end game? Doubt he did anything to try keep Patricio or cassell from leaving. Kraft got on his knees and begged cassell to stay. Bill's replacement??? Probably so. Trouble in paradise.

For some reason I thought of the Flemish Cap from the movie The Perfect Storm when I read your post. In the movie they take their fishing boat out to the Flemish Cap and on the way back (with a boat load of fish) they go into the perfect storm and the boat sinks and everyone dies. It was Fleming's name and our CAP situation that made me think of Flemish Cap and that movie, but oddly enough the movie sounds a lot like our entire offseason. If our ship does end up sinking, I can only hope that like in the movie there are no survivors (meaning Garrett and his staff get the axe).

The Flemish Cap? Why don't we just sign a guy from Portugal?!

I've never seen that movie.

If we signed Waddle people would whine, so NE signs him and it will be a great move on their part.
So if we sign Fleming now, people will whine over that. If we don’t sign him, the same people will whine.
I wont whine about it. Would be our best acquisition this FA period

I really wanted Waddle with the team.

This is very disappointing.

It will more than likely dilute the beast milk with tears at some point

You know something we don’t know?

Just doing the math. 1 (we can do whatever we want) + 1 (Patriots have to re-sign their other tackle to a short term deal) = 2 (Fleming is overwhelmed with our offer and just wants to show it around to his family before he signs it)

Yeah that's more important than solidifying your starting offensive line.

I think they have shown us that they are not operating on the basis of what should be more important. They are valuing the draft over free agency so it stands to reason that comp picks are an important part of their new philosophy. Just sit back and watch. Whoever they sign between now and May 12 will not negate the Hitchens comp pick.

Protect the best QB of all time and go to the SB, or go 8-8??

Tough one!

Not having cap space limits a team to the draft as its only means of improving.

Good thought, if it were true.

Everyone agrees the Cowboys made an offer of around $16m a year to Sammy Watkins. They obviously have ways to make cap space. It has been shown repeatedly even if you don't believe it.

I was surprised that the Pats hadn't resigned one of them. They already signed another vet tackle, so the path to Fleming should be set. Will be interesting to see what NE paid him. Fleming should be a similar $$$. Waddle was actually higher on the depth chart so it would seem there is something to go by.
