Pollard was ranked 9th in the league in pass blocking by some, so don't fall for the false narrative. Zeke doesn’t offer this anything a rookie can't do anymore. They mad at Tony cause Zeke is done.
Anyone still saying Pollard can't pass block clearly hasn't watched the Cowboys play this past season. It's a lazy assessment of his game. He's much improved in that area.

It sounds like it will be so massive he will feel insulted. Good. It's time to move forward. He did what he did 3 years into a contract that was set to go five. His chickens have come home to roost. I always appreciated Zeke, but it was obvious when TP went down our run game was doomed. Zeke is done.

Zeke is still a good play that can help....anyone that doesn't see this, doesn't know football. I agree, he needs to take a big paycut.
Respectfully, i just don’t see it. He’s the first running back I’ve ever seen where his biggest selling point is pass blocking.

I tend to believe he’s been more of a product of what’s around him that say his own talent, and yeah i know I’m in an island here but always, even including his rookie year found him to be vastly overrated. And i actually like the guy as a person and seems like a god teammate. And not saying this to you at all, but we have some irrational obsessive fans in my opinion.

The things he does well - pass protection, short yardage, goal line, catching the ball, average running ability, and a good knowledge of the game - are worth $3-4 million a year.

I can't imagine any team offering more than that.
I think $3 mil is what another team will offer him. Jerry and Jr will offer $5/6 million. 5 million is overpriced but I wouldn't hate that deal too much.

The pay cut will be as enormous as an elephant's bowel movement weight in gold.

Poor Zeke? He hasn’t done anything to deserve a better ending.
Just carried our offense and his inept bud since 2016.
How soon do many of you forget.......oh well life is the life I guess.

You do understand that a runner can get to the sideline and turn the corner yet because the crease was between G & T that he's 8-10 yards down field when he reaches the sideline? The line did their job. This isn't having to go parallel to the LOS and beat defenders to the edge.

Also, let's touch on a few other things. The way you asked the question, even one occurrence would have been sufficient to refute your claim. Even you should know that wouldn't hold water.

A super fan such as yourself surely knows for a good stretch we were running for like 200 yards a game. You think we did that without linemen getting downfield?

Since you mention Tony, you surely remember his long TD run down the left side. Well if you remember that, you remember Tyler like 35 - 40 yards downfield escorting him.

So, why you embarrassing yourself?
Imnot embassed . I see the game you want to play. You saw a scab in my comment and pick it so the blood flows.
Lets cut to the chase here...and cut the games. Clarity over agreement. You think the o line is great. I dont.
End of story.

Oh, I was not disagreeing my friend.
Obviously, some hits do more damage than others.
I Still say....having to do that much blocking for a horrid o line and sissy tes wore him down.
i ve never seen a super star running back have to do it.
Now its time to kick him to the curb. With some disdain and ridicule.

Yes. He is a legit pro bowl worthy RB. Didn't he lead the league in ypc?
Without the heavy work load as the second rb.
Lots of our #2s had obscene stats. Until they were featured.
Im not sure tony is them. But its a fact hes never done it.

ask you once again....when was the last time you saw an o lineman 5 yards up the field looking for someone to pancake?

an above average o line would do that often.

cant say i blame you for not answering the question.
The discussion was about Zeke and his ability or lack of ability. Since your point claims a running back requires pancake blocks to perform well, please tell me how many pancake blocks each Dallas Cowboy OL had this year?

Also what is the average pancake block per lineman in the NFL in 2022?

Please reference your stats so we all can learn from your knowledge base.

Because he sells jerseys and fans become attached to the stars. Most casual fans aren’t aware how much players salaries are or care. They just tune in on Sundays to watch the game .
That’s exactly the difference, and validates my recent comment on Payne….

If he was their draftee, they would never let him out of here. But he wasn’t, so they won’t even consider adding him beyond a 30 second conversation where the kid claims he will be too expensive.

They want lifelong Cowboys that fans know the name of and sells merchandise.

THATS where winning is secondary in Dallas. It’s not as if they wouldn’t prefer to, but preserving the brand is first and foremost.

Wonder if that’s what Jimmy was thinking when he got here.

Also I think at least some of this is posturing by the team.

They don’t want him back, but they want it to sound as if it’s on Elliott.

I’d also guess this is another Gregory situation where the kid doesn’t want the player but Jerry does, and Stephen has to try to finesse things.

I’ll give the guy one thing….he does tend to get his way. He has an 81 year old man on board with a long term plan lol.

Why would you even want him for that? We know Jerry will force him to play a big role. He sucks.
I don’t. I’m saying if he’s retained, which with the Jones’ is always a possibility, I’d want him at a severely reduced salary.
