Testimony of child witnesses in child abuse case by one-way closed circuit television would be admissible under the confrontation clause to the extent that a proper finding was made that use of procedure was necessary to protect child witness from trauma; witnesses were under oath, were subject to full cross-examination and could be observed by judge, jury and defendant as they testified.

Maryland v. Craig, 497 U.S. 836 (1990)

I do not wish for eternal damnation for him. Even the worst can find redemption. Yet, I do wish that - if guilty - his life would be forfeited. To me, rape/molestation and kidnapping (not the ordinary custodial in-fighting sort, but the Elizabeth Smart type) are on par with murder.

Not trying to start a capital punishment argument, just saying that, to me, what is alleged is almost as horrific as outright murder.

I hope that is not the case. I can't imagine being in their shoes. Apparently mulitple young people are willing to come forward.

Anderson, who specializes in child sexual abuse cases, also said that in recent days he has been contacted by a number of alleged victims' families.

"All of them (are) expressing a desire to make the truth known about what happened to them and their families and, in particular, a desire, a courageous desire to make sure that other kids are not harmed, because in the final analysis, what the victims and the ... courageous survivors we work with want, first, is to be believed and, second, to make sure that other kids are not harmed the way they were and are and that is why we are working so hard," Anderson told "Early Show" co-anchor Erica Hill.

I'm with you.

I have said many times, if a person is capable of molesting our children, or raping our women, then we don't need that person in our society ever again.

No mercy, no second chance.

And this thing of taking other peoples children, .. if a person does that, .. no mercy and no second chances.

Like you, the discussion of capital punishment can be taken up elsewhere, but I think they should at least be put somewhere where they will never be seen or heard from again.

In the email, dated Nov. 8, McQueary said, "I did stop it, not physically, but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room," The Morning Call reported....

In another email reported by NBC News on Monday night, McQueary told friends that he did the right thing.

"I didn't just turn and run ... I made sure it stopped ... I had to make quick tough decisions," he said in the email, according to the report.
Ok, so he stopped it, good for him. But what took place after he stopped it? According to him, he stopped a boy being sexually assaulted by Sandusky, then he just left the locker? So that Sandusky can continue to rape the boy? Again, what happen to the boy? It doesn't sound like McQueary contacted boy's parents, or took him home, so who did? Didn't it occur to him that the boy might need medical attention? Lot of unanswered question.

I want to hear a lot more from this guy, can anyone explain why he has to be so mum on the subject? What is the risk in coming out with his full story? Can the prosecution prevent him from talking? I'm tired of everyone saying we can't talk because of the ongoing investigation.

Something that is important to remember is that he also has said he contacted the police as well as campus police. Also, remember that Paterno had said he wished he had done more. He didn't say he wished he would have called the police.

Just something to remember.

Interesting. I wonder why McQueary did not mention contacting the police in his grand jury testimony. Was he attempting to protect Penn State?

A lot of heads are going to roll before this thing is over.

Increase the incentive to murder the children to cover up the crime, since the penalty would be no different?? You are not thinking this through.

Well at the end of the day if only 50% of the real story comes out a lot of people's opinions that they hold now, will change.

Unfortunately the whole story will not come out.

Yes, read that part, but do you think that if he did contact the local police (assuming "police" is the local police), it wouldn't be a national headline since it occurred at PSU and Sandusky's previous relationship with Paterno? Never heard any of it. Also, with an eyewitness and victim's testimony, wouldn't Sandusky be charged and be tried in a court? Which obviously didn't happen.

IMO, I don't believe he contacted local police, perhaps Campus police via VP in charge of Campus police dept.

Like I said, the whole story will never come out. There are A LOT of dots people aren't connecting.

I got to admit that I am still a little confused why the entire story can not be told. Maybe I am just slow.

Conspiracy of silence, I presume.

Given what some unversities have done to cover up problems with their bad boy players, trying to cover up a major coaching figure's abusive behavior is not that far fetched.

Do you know something you been told not to share? If so, I'm not sure the person who told you not to share it would appreciate you even intimating that you have inside knowledge.

I just don't get the point of telling everyone you know something that you can't share... It doesn't make you seem more credible on the topic.

Frankly I don't care.
