And that is the problem. If this continues, and it appears to be the case, then we will be desperate in the draft and will make some idiotic reaches and force picks.

This is my fear
And when the reaches are being made by the collective jones hive mind, that is a terrifying prospect

Oops.... Completely forgot that the picks will be all Mcclay and ciskowski

Carrington is the other I would look at besides Ayers. Why did Pitt let him leave? I'd like to think they invited him over because he fit the 3-4 scheme. I could only imagine it had to be money!

No clue. His measurables and early production are eerily similar to a young Jason Hatcher, if I'm Cowboys brass I'm all over him however we may not know the whole story.

My wish list for still available players is

Melton
Chris Clemons (safety)

Those moves free us up not to reach

Do you have another modest cost FA DE in mind that would be a better rotation guy than him? I am open to any guy that can take 50% of the snaps this year and let a rookie grow into the full time role.

Sadly, no. When you allow free agency to breeze by you, then suddenly the Robert Ayers-types look better and better.

Of course not. If the Cowboys did not get it, you wouldn't have wanted it.

Michael, you need to get on board. If the Cowboys don't sign Peppers for 10 million a year you need to cry about how stupid this organization is.

Follow this and no one will question you. Your "likes" will also skyrocket.

Not at the price the Packers paid... no.

I didn't want Peppers either, and definitely not at that price. Though there are several guys we didn't get that I did want.

It's a good sign if RS and Alex think you're too positive overall. It means you have at least a little bit of perspective. Anything short of throwing yourself off the same bridge in any thread is frowned upon on their planet, where memories are short term and intentionally inaccurate.

We may have been interested in him. Maybe he was not interested in us. Maybe he wanted to finish his career somwhere he had a chance of winning and competing for a Superbowl. Not happening in Dallas as long as Jones is running the show.

Glad we didn't sign him honestly.

These are two guys I'd like to see, too. And another vet DL somewhere down the line.

Was expecting him to go for Tuck money (2 years 11 mill.) This is way overpriced.

Seriously, his price was too rich for Dallas. I would say he is 50 to 60 percent of a player to ware. Although I like the move for Green Bay. They get a division rival and I think peppers fits in with their current players.

According to Josina Anderserson of ESPN, the Packers have signed Julius Peppers’ to a 3-year deal for $30M max, $7.5M guaranteed & $8.5M in total in 1st yr salary.

Haha, nobody ever says "$30M max". That you did shows you're trying to influence readers into thinking that he isn't going to get all $30M, and to think of it only as a $7.5M one year deal instead of 3 years at $10M per.

No matter how you look at it, he is getting paid a lot for a 35 year old who is changing from a 43 scheme to a 34 scheme.

If he came to Dallas I wanted him to play on the strongside because he's lost so much with his agility, but he still is pretty strong. But what will he play in GB? DE? That is a lot of money to pay a guy just to be a run plugger, which is all he'll be as a 34 DE. Not to mention that I'm not sure how good he'd be in that capacity. OLB? Good Lord, I hope not. His movement skills are bad enough for DE, much less OLB.

Oh well... I'm sure they have a plan.

BINGO! why don't some Cowboy fans get it? guys want money and a chance to win. they have no chance to win here with Jerry and Stephen Jones running things.NONE!

I do not think Dallas has a lot to offer at the moment. Money-wise and beyond. No state taxes though.
