I feel like spending a 4th round pick on a player cut in his 2nd year is a fairly big miss. If it was a 6th or 7th round then whatever business as usual, but 4th round picks usually last longer than this. Too bad.

Jimmy cut 2 players that were picked in the 3rd round. He probably never gave them a 2nd thought after they were gone.
Fair enough but it still doesn't excuse the fact that it was a wasted pick. A fourth rounder should usually land you a serviceable back up or something along those lines. I'd rather be hitting on my third and fourth rounders than cutting them.
I think it sucks to cut someone who at the spot he was picked was expected to contribute. However, I applaud them for cutting bait, too. Holding on too long waiting for a guy to develop, ala Matt Johnson, can be just as bad.
That said, they could still bring him back via the PS, too. So you never know.
Fourth rounders bust (as in, contribute little to no value to an NFL franchise) over 50% of the time. People vastly overestimate the hit rate of draft picks.Fair enough but it still doesn't excuse the fact that it was a wasted pick.
