Yep he and DMAC both went down after a big gust of wind.

This means one of two things, or both.
1. His knee was a concern and didn't think he would be able to practice much.
2. Seastrunk has impressed the team in the limited time he's been there.

Otherwise don't see any reason why they make this move before camp even begins. The fact of the matter is he was a long shot to make the roster despite all the hype. I just wonder about the timing of the move...

I think #1.

I think besides being fragile many are over looking the obvious. Williams not adept at picking up the blitz. If Romo goes down season over. Why risk it for a dime a dozen type back.

I had a feeling he was going to be the odd man out anyways.

Dunbar was a lock.

What does Chris Johnson bring to the table that Darren McFadden or Lance Dunbar don't?

Stepping in here.

I'm not one really pushing for Johnson, but to answer your question, he has >1000 yards 6 of his 7 seasons. The one year he didn't, he didn't get the reps.
That alone right there would answer the question...he has proven consistenly that he can give you >1000 yards and still have a high ypc average when doing so.

Plus he rarely gets hurt.

Certainly he could get 1200-1500 yards behind this line and with this QB.

But he is 29, a bit of a knucklehead, and probably has a higher asking price than some....so I can see why maybe they wouldn't go there

I had a number of discussions on Williams and was never high on him couldn't understand why many here were. I pointed to his 2.8 rushing average in AZ and that he wasn't impressive during preseason last year which is why he didn't make the 53 man roster. I know his issues as a blocker were the main concern but he didn't run all that well last summer.

What a surprise. Hasn't been productive since his second year in college, confidence issues, and injuries galore. Why would anyone think he'd be cut? Just isn't cut out for football, sadly.

Will be waiting for the inevitable McFadden hamstring injury.

Williams just can't stay healthy and his lack of picking up passes rushers never helped his cause

I don't see how cutting Ryan could be for anything but injury (or perhaps he got in big trouble and the news hasn't broke yet).

No reason I can see to cut him before camp unless they know he can't play anymore

There may be some bonus issues or, they may want some roster room.
