My guess is it will be reported as a 6 year deal, but in reality more like 3

I love him on team but sets a horrible precedent with 2 yrs left on contract

I’d tell the players, “Anyone who wants to become the best in the world at their position while still on their rookie contract... please do so, and we will look at renegotiating.”

I get that but does that mean that ANY guys who starts to outplay a contract can just stop playing? Say a DE vet who breaks out and starts recording top sacks but just got his second contract..."I'm better than this now...pay me." My deal is if RBs have a short shelf life and their rookie contract is slotted...allow them more money. He was picked 4th and his contract was pretty nice. Holding out this year just left a bad taste and after all of Jerry's swagger, he will back down.

There are rules... like you cannot renegotiate a rookie deal until after year 3. That's in the CBA.
But shouldn't it make you wonder why the owners allowed that ability to renegotiate after year 3?

I would have pulled the offer last week and show Zeke who really has the leverage on a guy that holds out with two years left on his contract. He could honor his contract or sit out. It wouldn’t have mattered to me.
