There is a limit on how much they can back load with the 30% rule

You’re right about that. I’m actually not so worried about the total figures. I am just hoping the deal is structured so the team can cut him when he is 28-29 years old, if his production begins to drop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if this is an extension the amount given at signing is spread over 8 years (this year, the 5th year option from rookie contract and the 6 from the extension). If so, that means...worse case...they used $5 million in cap room.

Are you even able to make a post that doesn’t slight the QB of your suppose to be favorite team ?

We are paying this because Steven and jerry aren’t the sharpest this has been proven with regularity

WRONG we are paying cause our offense without Zeke is GARBAGE!!!!!
And we're paying early and too much....

So holding out with multiple years left on your previous deal works, even for the least valued position in football

Apparently so.

Maybe now that Philly has similar talent @ RB, the Eagles will face the same conundrum. sooner rather than later.

.... OMG, I'm just kidding!!!

Howard's a jag in comparison. It's gonna be OK, I promise.

When he is 30?

I’m not anti Zeke. Not at all. I’m just saying I am hoping it’s strucutred so when he is 28 years old, they can cut him painlessly if his performance drops off.
Yea. He better not have guaranteed money past four more seasons. This will be his age 24 season. Three more seasons after this year. I anticipate he’ll be run into the ground by then, if not a year sooner.

Everyone thinking the reported 6/90 is legit? And something Zeke is really considering? I still have my doubts.

Dunno but La'el Collins seemed like a cap casualty during the offseason and Zeke taking that contract with 40 mill guaranteed might've had something to do with them having the space to sign La'el.

I'm pretty sure La'el and Zeke are good buddies along with Dak and Collins could've got more on the open market I imagine.

Could be worse. We could have Ajayi and win another Super Bowl

If its a 6 year extension does that means he basically has an 8 year contract now? Is that a record for a RB? He'll be... 32 when its done? 33?

If it’s a 6 year extension and it means 8 years total including this one. Then he would be 31 during the last season of the contract.

But yeah it depends how it’s worded.

Of course if all the guarantees are done and paid in 4 years. It makes him cuttable when he is about 28 which is what I am hoping for.
