Lost our Natasha early this morning...
She was actually our daughter's cat, but she spent a good chunk of her life with us while my daughter was deployed.
My daughter and her husband moved back east near us about a year and half ago.
"Natasha" was the perfect name for her. She was a beautiful cat with a little bit of an "I'm the Queen" attitude which rubbed my son-in-law the wrong way, so we ended up with her.
Natasha was a Katrina-cat who was moved from the New Orleans' area during the hurricane. She ended up at a shelter in the DC area during the time my daughter was stationed there.
The rest is history as they say.
Like the original post in this thread, Natasha was full of life until about the last month, when it seems her kidneys started to fail. She lost weight, lost her will to eat and yesterday her mobility. But we kept her on our laps and she passed peacefully before dawn this morning.
Our house is sadder and already emptier without her.
