Beware of messing with the QBs blind side blocking heading into December.

If Tyron Smith is planned to be LT I’d rather have Tyler Smith have time to acclimate to LG.
Will be interesting to see where Tyron belongs when healthy.
Do we disrupt the current chemistry and move rook TS to LG and reinsert Tyron back a LT, or does Tyron bounce McGovern out at LG.
These are questions that will have to be addressed with a healthy Tyron returning late December.

If we recall, Jimmy used to rotate defensive linemen in and out. One of the single most reasons the Dallas defensive front was so potent during the 92-95 heyday could be attributed to the line staying fresh because they were not playing as much as other teams starters. Not much drop off when an individual was given a breather.

The offensive line may be different. Their tandem workload might prevent this type of rotation during games. But to my way of thinking, if you have four guys, three of them able to play tackle, and three play guard, this might be a key to keeping people healthy and making a real run with an offensive line just beating down the defenses they will see.

A blurb earlier this week spoke about Tyron working a bit at guard. We know Peters has played guard at some point since arriving here. McGovern obviously is a guard, and T Smith the rookie has played both inside and outside.

It just occurs, team wide, health is gelling for this team. On both sides of the ball. If the chemistry issue can be overcome by spelling linemen, this could be a road to success.

Dak can play this game if the pocket is clean. With the addition of 34 as a third running back, and Pollard and Elliott thriving. And perhaps an addition of a WR whose name should never be mentioned. I am just extremely excited about the possibilities of closing out November strong and a serious December run.

Tyron I still think aint playing in 2022. Thats just a Jerry wet dream. He may be on the 53 and suited up soon, but I think he will be a depth guy, not a starter. Emergency only. I wouldn't risk the mans career anymore than needed.

No, if Tyron ain't healthy he ain't suiting up. If he suits up he starts.

Between McGovern, Peters, and Tyler, we've got 3 guys for 2 positions. There is just no need or sense in rushing Tyron back.

I remember Jimmy Johnson talking about the first (1992) Super Bowl against Buffalo and people saying how potent Buffalo’s no-huddle offense was and how they tired out defenses, and he just said he would platoon in 4 different DL every time they had a normal break in the action. Commercial breaks, etc. would see 4DL in and 4 DL out. They were always fresh and the Buffalo Bills OL got worn down. It was brutal.

The rest, as they say, is history, haha. 52 - 17 and a Buffalo offense that looked like they were just beat-down.

Its hard to get & keep a group in sync. Be very careful about messing with chemistry.

Glory days, lads!

The downside was hearing, after every whalloping of the Bills by our mighty crew, how The Bills would get better and what a genius/saint that loser Levi was. Now we have the Buffalo Mafia era and the deluge of admiration for a loser franchise. Ugh! lads, ugh!

I love the story Jimmy told about catching the sports on the news a couple of days before the Super Bowl, and whatever news station it was recorded video of the Bills practicing. They were doing that little shovel pass to the RB as they appeared to be setting up to throw to a WR. Quick thing like the fullback handoff on short yardage.

Jimmy conferred with Wandstedt and they had one of the men working on their support team check to see if the Bills ever ran that play during the season. They had not.

Jimmy and company prepared for that play and stuff it every time the Bills ran it. I understand Jimmy didn't believe in luck. So you might say he was so intently aware he recognized a possibility and prepared. Jimmy and crew were always prepared.

However, Jerry used the word luck, but had to say serendipity to keep from pissing Jimmy off.

Either way, as you say, the rest is history.

Why doesn't he just report the sports news and keep his opinions to himself?

Nobody asked him.

Why? So Peters can start two games before Tyron Smith comes back? What then?

I think the Cowboys were playing with house money by inserting Peters into the game while moving Smith to guard. They got a birds eye view of the upcoming switch they are planning on making with Tyron coming back to his tackle position. Peters is the backup. McGovern may reclaim his role as a full back. This is all speculation on my part.

Sounds right to me.

Though if/when Tyron comes back, I'd like to see them bring back the Jumbo Jumbo, with Peters and McG playing FB/TE. Peters in particular.

I think we've got more starting quality olinemen than defenses have starting quality run defense dlinemen. Sure, everyone has the pack of rushmen, but they don't have a pack of rushdefensemen. And we've got a herd of run blockers.

I don’t think Peters is going to be a full time starter in the NFL anymore. Last year in Chicago, he was the starter but still took plays off nearly every game. At 40 years of age, he’s a good player for up to about 1/2 the plays in a game. I think playing him at LT and playing Tyler Smith at LG is good preparation for Tyron Smith returning.

The great news for the Cowboys is that Tyler Biadasz and Terrance Steele have improved, and Connor McGovern has dramatically improved at the Guard position. Overall, the Cowboys are in a really good position along the offensive line.

This entire oline has improved and is one of the be olines in the NFL. And to top it off we have Peters to either play tackle or guard. People here think that San Francisco is the team to beat because of their physicality. Well, I think our oline is as physical as any out there and we don't have a Conner Williams that will get out-muscled anymore.

The 9ers will be a great matchup. But we won't get out-muscled like we did last year.

Anyone get a chance to really look into his 20 or so snaps from yesterday? At worse, we have real depth at LT.

Since Tyler is going to get moved to the LG spot, why not give Peters a start at LT before Tyron comes back????? The Big Fella deserves it since he did us a favor by signing with his arch enemy.....
